序论:教会是一个向罪人展现神的恩典与怜悯的地方,但同时神在教会里的圣洁也是不可忽视的。因此,即便教会有很齐全的牧养与辅导工作,但也要明白教会纪律的重要。一间教会若不断的提倡爱与恩典,但若没有纪律,来到教会的人(甚至是很多还未重生得救的人)就会滥用教会给予的爱和恩典。慢慢的,我们不但会看到人不悔改,甚至很多主的群羊也不得保护。我们一般信徒常常带着的观念是主耶稣来到地上,都是要保护祂的群羊。祂为税率、娼妓、和罪人说话,祂也何等的爱门徒们,从没有向他们强调什么纪律性的事情。听起来像是这样,但我们能否肯定教会里所有的人都是主所爱的蒙恩得救的信徒呢?我们能否肯定所有进到教会里的人都是要认识与跟从主的吗?另外,即便是属主的人,在没有纪律之下,他们是否会从自己的软弱过犯走出来呢?当然,没有人喜爱被管教,多半人都是被爱吸引,但是我们是否有想过为什么保罗说圣经的话都是于教训、督责、使人归正、教导人学义有关系的呢《提后3:16》?因为我们人性的堕落不是不需要爱,乃是不知道真理。当我们不认识真理,且不被真理教训、督责与归正,我们就继续追求与满足于一种没有真理的爱。那不是爱,乃是谎言。那是叫一个人越是远离神的爱,且只能接受一切没有谴责性的道理。这样的人只选择听合乎自己心意的话。不用说教会的人,就是连世界的人跟他讲正面与积极的话,他也都会乐意地接受。因此,这等人不会接受不合乎自己心意的道理。这样的人不能结出悔改的果子不是因为他得到的爱不够,乃是他的良心已经对神的真理麻木了。因此,在主的爱里,一定有责备与纪律的,而在责备与纪律中,人才能坚强起来选择圣洁的道路,行出美好的善。因此,《来12:11》说:凡管教的事,当时不觉得快乐,反觉得愁苦,后来却为那经练过的人结出平安的果子,就是义。试问我们哪一个做父母的没有教训儿女,儿女就能自动的上进呢?可能有一些孩子不需要很多的教训,但若父母在他长大的过程从来没有纠正他,他可能长大后不会犯法,但他未必能理解父母的心意。同样的,一个罪人蒙恩得救之后,没有被管教与督责,他可能会害怕人或法律而不犯错,但他绝不会懂得行出神的义,他在爱神爱人的事上也不会更胜一筹。确实,人的心是要被教训才能坚强的。但我们并非为了教训而教训,在教训中也不是要摧毁一个人的形象。我们的教训是要唤起一个人的良心,使他知错懊悔,以致下垂的手、发酸的腿有能力挺起来行在主圣洁的道路中《来12:12》。在此,教会纪律就带有很重要的意义了。倘若教会是一个神所同在的群体,也是圣洁的神动工之处,教会怎么能无止尽的容忍不圣洁的行为呢?在那不圣洁与不道德的行为中,若教会没有立场与实际的纪律,很多人(特别神的子民)的良心是会受伤的。他们因为看不到神的圣洁,可能会轻忽罪,导致自己容易落入试探,不然就是怀有一些不公义的心境,认为教会里有偏带人的举动。今天,教会在面对纪律性的事情有两种的偏差。第一,就是因为爱而从不施行实际的纪律。另外就是过度的严厉施行纪律,以致有些领袖也以私人的偏见来滥用教会纪律,将不喜欢的会友赶出教会,或是停止他们的服侍。这两者都是在神面前有误的举动。今天,让我们多来谈到教会纪律的问题。
Prelude: The church is a place which shows God's grace and mercy to sinners, but at the same time, God's holiness in the church cannot be ignored. Therefore, even if the church has a full range of pastoral and counseling work, we must understand the importance of church discipline. If a church continuously emphasizes love and grace, but without discipline, those who come to the church (even many who have yet to be regenerated and saved) will abuse the love and grace that the church gives. Slowly, we will not only see that people do not repent, but even many of the Lord’s sheep are not protected. Most believers often have the concept that the Lord Jesus came to earth to protect His sheep. He spoke up for the tax collectors, prostitutes, and sinners but He also loved His disciples so much, and never emphasized any discipline to them. It may sound like this, but can we be sure that all people in the church are believers who are loved by God, blessed and saved? Can we be sure that everyone who enters the church wants to know and follow the Lord? In addition, even those who belong to the Lord, without discipline, will they be able to come out of their weaknesses and sins? Of course, no one likes to be disciplined, most people are attracted to love, but have we ever wondered why Paul’s words in the Bible are related to teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness <2 Ti 3:16>? Because it is not that our fallen human nature does not require love, but that we are ignorant of the truth. When we do not know the truth, and are not taught the truth, rebuked and corrected, we continue to pursue and be satisfied with a love without truth. That is not love, but a lie. That can lead a person farther away from God's love, make the person only accept principles that do not rebuke. Such people only choose to listen to what conform to their hearts. Not just people in the church, even if people in the world speak positive things to these people, they will be happy to accept them. Therefore, this group of people will not accept truths that do not conform to their hearts. Such people cannot bear the fruit of repentance not because they have not received enough love, but because their conscience has become numb to the truth of God. Therefore, in the love of the Lord, there must be rebuke and discipline, and in rebuke and discipline, then people can be strengthened to choose the holy path and do good works. Therefore, <Heb 12:11> says, “No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.” Think about it, which one of us parents can make our children improve automatically without teaching them? There may be some children who do not need a lot of teaching, but if their parents never correct them when they grow up, they may be law-abiding when they grow up, but they may not be able to understand the hearts of their parents. Similarly, after a sinner is saved by grace, if he is not disciplined or rebuked, he may not do wrong for fear of people or the law, but he will never know how to act in God’s righteousness, nor will he be better in loving God and others. Indeed, the human heart can only be strong by being disciplined. But we do not discipline for the sake of disciplining, and in disciplining, we do not destroy a person's image. Our discipline is to arouse a person's conscience and make him know he is wrong and repent such that his feeble arms and weak knees are strengthened to walk in the holy path of the Lord <Heb 12:12>. Here, church discipline has a very important significance. If the church is a group in which God is present and a place where the holy God works, how can the church tolerate unholy behavior unceasingly? In that unholy and immoral behavior, if the church does not have a stand and practical discipline, the conscience of many people (especially the people of God) will be hurt. Because they cannot see God's holiness, they may treat sin lightly, which makes them easy to fall into temptations. Otherwise, they may feel some injustice and think that the church is biased toward some people in its actions. Today, the church has two errors with regard to disciplinary matters. The first is failing to carry out actual discipline because of love. The other is excessively strict discipline, such that some leaders abuse church discipline with their personal prejudice, excommunicating members they do not like from the church, or disallowing them from serving. Both of these are wrong actions before God. Today, let us talk more about church discipline.
