Lord Jesus said, "But if I drive out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.” In fact, when a believer grasps the mystery behind being Holy Spirit-filled regularly, the forces of darkness will be driven away practically. But today, many believers do not understand the devil and its powers. In the beginning, the devil sinned, opposed God’s will (Word), and then from <Gen 3:15> to <Rev 12>, we see its battle with Christ (gospel). Therefore, coming to this day, the forces of darkness are unceasingly opposing the fulfillment of the Holy Spirit in <Ac 1:8>. Actually, the devil is defeated at all fronts. However, if the believer does not understand how to expel its powers, he will surely be deceived and end up leading a powerless life without fruits. Firstly, from the perspective of the whole Bible, the work of the devil focuses on causing man to be unable to know, experience and live out the gospel. Only when the gospel is not advancing (not in man’s heart), will the power of the devil be stronger. Today, many believers merely view all the hardships, temptations, lack and unfavourable things as attacks from the devil, so the focus of their prayers is on solving these problems, believing that the problems will be solved through the driving out of the forces of darkness. But actually, the forces of darkness do not depart just by having the problems solved. On the contrary, sometimes the forces of darkness are even more entrenched in a person’s life when he has peace, health, prosperity and success without the gospel. Actually, the forces of darkness can only be driven out when the gospel of Christ is exalted and the powerful work of the Holy Spirit is upon us. Therefore, when we are faced with all kinds of problems and hardships, we must recognize the head of the devil, and in that moment and situation, restore the truth that Christ lives through me and is using my own situation to advance the gospel. The powerful work of the Holy Spirit then comes upon me and crushes the power of the devil’s army. Actually, this is not something that is only achievable by people of great faith. If one knows the enemy’s vital points, his spirit can focus on the right spiritual battles. Therefore, before a person understands the spiritual truth (build the Kingdom, exalt the King, gather the People), he is unable to strike the enemy in its head. For a believer to receive the power to cast out demons, he must recognize that the power comes from knowing the gospel; for a believer to experience the powerful work of the Holy Spirit, he must spread the gospel in and out of season. If believers do not understand the mystery behind these, the believers will remain in shallow prayer living, powerless to breach the stronghold of the forces of darkness.
