人被电脑游戏捆绑、人被工作捆绑而压力不堪、孩子与青少年人都被手机捆绑、家庭里缺少沟通、人与人之间越来越没有亲情、等都是数字与网络时代所带来的取向。确实，我们认别与推断这些趋势并不难，但我们能否应对这些问题却是极大的挑战。另外，这数字与网络时代又带给了教会怎样的挑战呢？我们开始看见圣民不喜爱读经，就算读也缺乏思考能力。实际上，信徒花在浏览网页的时间远远超过读经听信息的时间。这显示了信徒心灵的问题与无法敬虔度日的危机。对这时代的年轻人来说，可能其中一个最严重的问题就是他们已经被互联网和里头一切向他们发射的情报质询塑造了。前年有统计说：千禧一代的新加坡人（差不多目前18-32岁的人）一天花上3.4小时看手机。另外也有统计说我们一天平均有157次查看我们的手机。前两个月有说到现在一般12岁的孩子平均划伤6.5小时用电子工具。对有些人来说，这还是一个保守的数目了。试想，当人的肉身重复的被一个举动占据，这告诉我们他的精神与情感是怎么在那举动里头得着满足。其实，这样的现象不会减轻，反而会倍增。纵然这数字与网络时代带给我们极大的方便与很重要的传福音管道，但他“迷惑人心灵”的危机是确确实实存在的。试问何谓数字时代(也叫信息时代)？这有很多说法，但基本上就是从差不多1970多年开始，全球开始从工业时代转向电脑时代，人开始很自由与快速的支取与传播情报。特别是当网站功能在1990多年开启，整个质询情报的流通在也不受到限制，信息不受限制的通行。从那时开始到现在，人类透过广泛的交流，接触各种的思想、新闻、质询、经历、体验，等，也从这里得着满足。试想现在有谁能没有手机？有谁上班不需用到互联网与社交媒体平台？有谁不受到在别国家的新闻影响？有谁在找寻一些新鲜的经历与情报不是从网络找寻的？这数字时代带给我们一个“能”– 能知道、能做到、能尝到、能得到、等的功能。但是在属灵方面却间接带给我们更多的“不能” – 不能不爱世界、不能没有手机、不能不被网上情报影响、不能不忙、不能单纯、不能不被捆绑、不能敬虔度日、不能节制、等。特别，倘若我们透过神的话细密的确认就会发现自己的心怀意念在这时代是特别难保守，因为我们所听的、看的、接触的、感应的（环境、生活节奏、人的话与想法）都一直在与我们的灵魂交战。所以，试问在这样的时代我们怎么如保罗所说成就了一切，还能站立得住？神给我们的答案就是“要被圣灵充满”。唯有在我们里面的圣灵能胜过这世俗的魔力。所以，除非我们掌握如何在这样的时代中被圣灵充满的秘诀，我们是自动会成为这末世时代的奴仆。我们与我们儿女的心灵也会慢慢跟这时代的风潮妥协。因为我们信徒的仇敌是与那肉眼看不见，且是执政的、掌权的、且是管辖幽暗世界的。他不是靠人的聪明和意志力能够胜过的。所以，在这数字与网络时代，邪灵的工作是借着各种假道、情报质询与流行的风潮控制人的心灵，挑动人的私欲。人好像懂很多，但都是在欺骗的灵的工作之下生活做事。所以，唯有被圣灵充满，我们才能得着主里面的平安，也享有拯救这末后时代的答案。

Man are bounded by computer games, stressed out at work; kids and teenagers are bounded by handphones, lack of communication within a family, estrangement between human etc are the orientations brought forth by digital and internet age. Indeed, it is not difficult to identify and rationalize such trends, but it is an immense challenge to handle such issues. Besides, what kind of challenges has digital and internet age bring to the church? We start to see how believers dislike reading the Bible; even if they read, they lack the power to meditate. Actually, believers spend far more time surfing the net than listening to the sermons. This reveals the spiritual problem of believers, and the danger of not being able to lead godly lives. To the youngsters of this generation, one of the most serious problems is that they are being shaped by the information and news coming from the internet. Statistics a year back showed: the Singaporeans of the millennia (average 18-32 years old) spent 3.5 hours a day on their phones. Another statistics mentioned that on average, we check our handphones for 157 times. 2 months ago, it was reported that children in the age of 12 spent 6.5 hours on electronic gadgets. To some, this remains a conservative figure. Try thinking, when the flesh of men is repeatedly occupied by an action, this also shows that they are mentally and emotionally satisfied in that particular action. Such phenomenon will not improve but gets worse. Despite its great convenience and being an important channel of evangelism, the digital and internet age do carry with it the threat of “confusing the mind”. What does it mean by internet era (also called information age)? There are many sayings, but basically, it began around 1970 when the world starts to turn from industrial to computer era, and men began to receive and disseminate information freely and speedily. In particular, when the websites began to flourish in 1990, the transmission of information is also not restricted, and information can flow without hindrances. From then till date, through the widespread interaction, men engage different kinds of mindsets, news, information, experiences, sensations etc, and receive satisfaction from here. Try thinking, is there anyone without a phone today? Is there anyone at work not using the Intenret or social media platforms? Is there anyone who is unaffected by news from other countries? Do we not search for fresh experiences and information from the internet? This digital era brings to us “Can” – can know, can do, can taste, can get, etc. But it leads us to even more “cannot” in the spiritual aspect – cannot not love the world, cannot go without a phone, cannot stay unaffected by the information online, cannot stop being busy, cannot be simple, cannot be unbounded, cannot lead godly lives, cannot be self-disciplined etc. In particular, if we confirm ourselves closely through the Word of God, we will discover that that it is especially hard to safeguard our hearts and minds in this era, for what we hear, see, engage, sense (environment, living rhythm, men’s words and thoughts) are always battling with our souls. How can we live like what Paul said – accomplish all, and stand the test? The answer God has given us is “to be Holy Spirit filled”. Only the Holy Spirit dwelling in us can overcome the carnal temptations. Therefore, unless we grasp the secret of being Holy Spirit filled in this era, we will naturally be enslaved by the end times. We, and our spirit of sonship, will gradually compromise with the culture of the era, for our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. He is not overcome by men’s intelligence and willpower. Therefore, in this digital and internet era, the work of evil is through the various false sermons, information, and popular culture, controlling human’s spirit and instigating their selfish desires. Men seem to know a lot, but they work and live under the work of the deceptive spirit. Only when we are Holy Spirit-filled can we receive the peace in Christ, and have the answer that can save in end times.
