The Importance of Church Commitment <Eph 3:16-19; 1 Th 5:12-15>

1. Believers’ non-commitment to the church reveals a few things:

1) Believers are receiving the gospel with a consumer mindset

2) Believers are unwilling to be cared for and admonished

3) There is no love and righteousness amongst the believers

4) More and more believers are becoming “churchless”

2. Why must we commit to a local church? 

1) Because we want to obey the Word of God

2) Because we believe in the communion of saints 

3) Because we are willing to live under authority

4) Because we value our public identity as a Christian

5) Because we are willing for other churches to know the truth we receive
