God is Spirit (God’s heart), and is also the Way (God’s word). God created man in His own image, placing His spirit and word in man’s life. This is so that man can be fruitful, increase in number, subdue, and rule over the world through his heart and words of his mouth. Therefore, man’s heart and words have infinite powers. Even after man has fallen, this power remains in man’s life. However, because man does not know God, man’s heart and words bring about strong destructive power. Because many believers also do not know how to restore the word of the Holy Spirit, they often speak from the flesh, causing one’s spirit to suffer loss and others to fall (unable to receive grace). Man’s words are linked to the spiritual realm, and they are the ‘amplifier’ of the thoughts in man’s heart. Therefore, when a man speaks, his words will bring about the work of either the righteous angels or the fallen angels. Man’s word can edify lives (including himself), or it can destroy lives. Man’s word can build relationships or destroy relationships. From a person’s words, we can also know the thoughts in his heart. We can know whether a person is carnal or spiritual from his words. Therefore, one who fears the Lord must constantly train his own heart and words, so that the words of his mouth and thoughts in his heart would be pleasing to God.
