Believers are often in a weak, powerless state. They are even easily in doubt and invaded by the worldly spirit. There are 2 main reasons. Firstly, they often see the Christian faith as a decision, thinking that it is their own good decision that brought about God’s acceptance and blessings. This type of believers always thinks that faith (you can believe) is a personal decision. Secondly, many believers often think that after believing in Jesus, their behaviour, good deeds and conduct come from themselves, not from hearing and following the Lord of their spirits. These are two great misunderstandings, causing one to not meet God correctly so that he can walk with Him. Often, we are self-accusing and helpless because of our lack of faith but we never really seriously think about where our faith in God comes from? One can believe and rely on God in all things is because he knows God! He can always trust God because he already has a relationship with Him! This is what many believers have yet to clearly understand. In examining the whole book of Galatians, we must first understand ‘what is believing in Jesus?’ That is God allowing me to understand His eternally unconditional love in Christ, which enables my soul to be born again! <Jn 1:13> says: These people are born of God, not from the will of man. Therefore, God earnestly wants us to understand that He loves and blesses us absolutely. Even in our weakness, He does not leave us. This is not from our own right decision (choice), but because we are born of Him through the Holy Spirit. Therefore, for those people with assurance that they are ‘born of God’, in their journey of faith, they do not seek man’s perfection, but seek to live by hearing and following the Lord of their spirits. Because the satisfaction of the Father-child relationship comes from listening to and obeying the Father, not from obeying certain principles, rules, standards. Actually, in all the problems that we are facing now, once we turn to wanting to listen to and obey the Lord of our heart, all our problems will dissipate. So simply said, the malady of today’s believers is to mistake ‘believing Jesus’ as ‘I decided to believe, so I am blessed’, instead of ‘my spirit already had the sear of a child of God, so I am already blessed no matter what’.  So their faith is often at ‘I must do, I must do good deeds, be a good example’ (man-driven), while the other kind of faith is ‘Lord, what do you want me to do, how can I glorify you?’ (God-driven). This is also the truth that we want to understand today through the book of Galatians. Believing Jesus is a sear, not a decision.
