The purpose of God is for us to become someone who can be completely guided by the Holy Spirit. When a person is guided by the Holy Spirit, ① he knows the perfect will in all things; ② he can enjoy the absolute freedom of obeying God (not bound by the law); ③ he can also then understand clearly matters of sinful nature, and not be in bondages of passions and desires. This, itself, is the greatest power that God gives to people of gospel. Typically, there are three states of ignorance of the believers in church. First, some believers still look at things with the perspective of ‘should or should not, can or cannot’. Second state of ignorance is to continue to try very hard to endure and not to sin. Third state of ignorance is to continue to rely on man’s perseverance, good intentions, zeal to follow God. Actually, these few conditions of faith show that the believers are unable to enjoy the freedom and power from the guidance of the Holy Spirit, to overcome our enemy within us and on the outside. Paul said: when we live by the Spirit, we will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. Actually, the evil spirit is only afraid of the Holy Spirit. Where the Holy Spirit works, the work of the evil spirit weakens. Therefore, specifically, only when a person’s spirit continues to see the grace and love of Christ, confirm the almighty work of God, then the tests, temptations and persecutions of the evil spirit will dissipate. We cannot ask someone who is full of hatred not to hate, but to let him see the things which are of love and gentleness, so that hatred can leave his life; we cannot ask a person who is in bondage of sexual immorality not to be sexually immoral. We can only let him continue to receive the pure, holy and joyful love in Christ and in brethren so that the spirit of sexual immorality will leave him; we cannot ask a person who is constantly worried not to worry, but have to let him see how God is leading him in peace and abundance, so that the spirit of worry can leave him. The faces of the evil spirit is constantly changing, it uses all kinds of ploy, passions and desires to deceive and bind people. Science, psychology, and philosophy cannot triumph over it. No matter how man has temporal wonderful experiences and accomplishments, the evil spirit will snatch those away through the environment or words of other people. Even when a man can be strong and have faith to do good, he will quickly feel accused over something he did wrong when he was weak.  Therefore, if man wants to battle with the evil spirit, he must never boast of or rely on himself or any of his conditions. Only when he understands how to live by the Holy Spirit, can he defeat the evil spirit in all things.
