The church of the Lord needs the service of the saints. Therefore, God wants the church to “equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up” <Ep 4:12>, thus all can become one in the true word, know Christ, learn to be like Christ, and have the stature of Christ. So the service of a believer will definitely benefit himself, his brethren around him and the whole kingdom. Therefore, every believer must seek the role and noble tasks that God has prepared for him, receive the guidance of the Holy Spirit and immerse in it so that he can enjoy the fruits of the gospel with others, and see his own life grow continuously. It is right that the word of God gives life (therefore we are not focused on good works or gifts), but the life’s fragrance is emanated through good works. Our lives bring about good works, but these good works also confirm a person’s life, such that when he is devoted (to doing good works), he receives the grace that the Holy Spirit imparts him. And as he is doing this good work, God will also bestow gifts upon him (e.g. teach, intercede, heal, perform miracles, comfort, serve, food and logistics, praise and worship, offerings, etc). Therefore, if a person does not know where his gifts lie or does not use his gifts wisely, it will affect his life (such that he cannot receive his inheritance), and there would be gaps in some areas in the church. Also, if a person’s serving is incompatible with the gifts God has given him, there will be hardship for him and every one around him. However, there are also cases where God sets a role for a person but his gifts are insufficient, then he must seek God’s grace in that area, be wholly devoted to it, and receive the instructions of the Holy Spirit. As days go by, the gifts will be added to him by the Lord. In conclusion, when we desire noble tasks and make best use of our gifts, our lives and the whole church (kingdom) will benefit. This is what we cannot take lightly in the Year of Training Remnants. If a believer has confirmed his own goals in life, he must receive God’s will in matters of good works and gifts.
