In fact, the most important living field of believers is in church. That is his eternal home and the source of strength on earth. The strongest revelation of Holy Spirit and its leading come from the entire functioning of the church. Hence, when Paul mentioned of how wide, deep, long and high of Christ’s love, that was realized with all saints together <3:18>,  and not dependent on an individual’s ability to uncover it. However, believers often belittle church living. They regard the time and space of gathering as normal, the relationship with brethrens to be ordinary and thus unable to see the Holy Spirit that runs within (The perfect will and strength revealed by Father). This results in the spiritual life not being protected and often experience disturbances. In fact, Satan’s most aggressive attack is towards Church, because by attacking believers’ source of faith, they will gradually lose the ability to hear Holy spirit’s voice in their respective living fields ,  hindering them to be guided by the Holy Spirit. Actually, the love of God and His leading is new everyday. It is only when our hearts able to listen to His voice readily can we be unaffected by the world, refrain from anxiety, fear, restlessness, helplessness etc. Man cannot live in grace of the past but present’s grace. Although we gained victory yesterday, today we still want to be victorious. Hence,  the functioning of the church is to guide the believers daily and enable them to be able to hear God’s voice in all things, and to be guarded and sheltered. But today’s believers have 2 mindsets that are of no absolute foundation: (1) they cannot see the need for both church and church-living (hence they are often anxious and in wander when they encounter problems in life); (2)  because of the varying conditions, backgrounds, needs, perspective of  believers, the brethrens start to have conflict or divisions (this was the problem that both Jews of Ephesian churches and the Gentiles were facing). Try asking: where does this unity of the spirit of believers come from? Is it from man’s favour or an organization’s collective spirit? Certainly not because it will only bring about more divisions, infightings, hypocrites etc. The flesh cannot fulfil the matter of the spirit. Hence, what truly brings about this unity is [the unity of the Spirit]. This is initiated by the Holy Spirit, hence Paul exhorted the believers to make every effort to guard this heart. How can we have such a heart? It comes from the same complete truth which the believers know. When the truth invades into the stronghold of man’s heart, and restore his heart to surrender to Christ, naturally the heart of oneness will be restored in the believers. Hence, Holy spirit has given the truth to the church and enable the church to understand the truth. Through knowing the truth, receive the heart given by Holy spirit and be united.
