The workplace is indispensible in the holistic serving of a believer. When God places 8-10 hours of our daily life at the workplaces, this implies that: (1) God is definitely with us in this place and revealing Himself to us eagerly; (2) The calling of believers to glorify God, benefit man and building His kingdom will definitely happen at the workplace; (3) As the working environment and its associated conditions often make it difficult for us to draw near to the heavenly kingdom, we need to truly grasp a set of spiritual mystery (as shrewd as the snake, as innocent as the dove). In fact, I realized we believers do not usually have many doors of evangelism at work, and especially in in this fast-paced society when the needs of man increase, the spirit of competition intensifies, the societal culture has sunk into a carnal and typical situation. Many believers cannot spread the gospel, and not only that, they also lose the ability to guard their hearts and minds. It is indeed true that many believers are helpless in their workplaces. The “helplessness” here not only refers to not having peace and joy, it all the more implies one cannot spread the gospel in all seasons nor radiate the fragance of Christ.  However, admist all these, we need to firmly believe that the Almighty God is still with us. We absolutely need to stand firm and not to be sucked by the worldly flow because of our inability. Besides, we need to know in such society current (love of the world and deluge of cultures), there are even more harrassed and helpless people. Mant children of God have become the slaves of work, money and the society because of their own helplessness. Actually, we need to restore a perspective first – they are helpless, and pursuing the world in their helplessness, it is not that they belong to the world and thus love the world. Try asking: why is it that we often cannot identify such people? According to the spiritual theory: Because our spiritual situation is not sufficient enough to save or liberate these people. To put it more concretely: (1) we have yet to clearly receive the calling of serving holistically, thus our focus and interest are taken away by the busyness of the world half of the time; (2) the way we work and deal with people are unable to reveal the character and strength of Christ (Knowing that: our attitude and actions are not only apparent before man, but also the angels); (3) We cannot recognize who are the people God wants to save and thus we are always beating the air in the matter of evangelism ( we need to know that: spreading the gospel and crushing the forces of darkness are not accomplished by our diligence and strenuous effort but through being Holy Spirit filled). Today, we need to receive clear answers in these areas.
