There is a fine line difference between man’s worries and joy of the spirit. Sometimes, believers are troubled by many changing things on earth, or even troubled by things that are more “spiritual” (e.g.: family’s salvation, advancement of ministry, unity of church etc.).The worries may have triggered us to pray, but try asking, have we truly received reasons to rejoice through our prayers? If after prayers, our perspective and mentality still remain at the starting point of the problem, not only are we unhappy, the practical problems we are facing are not resolved too. In fact, no matter what evil, resistances or persistent problems the enemy Satan are bringing forth, the will of God, who is reigning on the throne, has never been stopped. Despite the evil plans of Satan and the various destruction and chaos he created on us, family or churches, the power and wisdom of God will always work for our good, turning the evil to goodness so that He and His followers will receive all glory. Our Lord Jesus had revealed this truth on earth. When Satan instigated Judas, chief priests, Pharisees and Pilates to crucify Jesus, he will be destroyed eventually; but the gospel was spread to all nations because of Christ’s substitution (people). Paul also “advanced the gospel” in his chains, so that the palace guards and everyone else at Rome heard the gospel, and most of the brothers outside had been encouraged to speak the word of God more courageously. Today we seem to know this truth, but why can’t we enjoy this answer in our hearts in practical situations? There’re 3 main reasons to it: Firstly, it is because “advancing the gospel” has not become our sole desire, thus we often lose our joyful heart when we fail to reach our goals or dreams on earth. Here we ought to understand that the Lord knows our troubles on earth, but the blessing, strength and wisdom He blesses us will never be outside of advancement of the gospel. This is because gospel is the central value of our lives, the advancement of gospel is the absolute reason why God is keeping us on earth. If we lose the primary, it is useless to have gained the secondary. Next, we often unconsciously focus on our own strength more than God’s strength, and we value the success and failures of the outcome more than the supernatural work of God. Actually, God wants us to affirm the value of gospel, He want us to rely on the Lord who can accomplish all things. Every day, He is doing the gospel works that are great and unsearchable but we often fail to realize it. Third, through prayers, God wants us to know the mission He’s given us and participate in the gospel ministry. If we receive clear answers in our prayers, we should be one-hearted in participating in His glory and receive joy instead of dwelling in the fleeting difficulties.
