Every time when we face trials, sufferings or difficulties, Holy Spirit is always proactively safeguarding the grace in us so that we do not lose faith completely. Often, we feel defeated by our sense  of helplessness or weaknesses, thus keep feeling sorrowful and remorseful. Actually, that is not the time to look at our own powerlessness. Instead, we need to fix our eyes on Christ’s humble submission, and experience the help and guidance of Holy Spirit. Also, through the supernatural work of Holy Spirit (according to His power that is at work within believers), He is very willing to reveal His exclusive help through the unity and intercessions of saints.  The power and wisdom of a person can never understand all things, only the Lord who is at work within us can enable us to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, together < Ep 3:18-19>. Today, some believers belittle this power (in another word, do not believe in such spiritual method) and thus do not value brethren’s living. Such believers are unable to receive protection from the intercessions of the brethrens, instead, they continue to wander in their own problems. Although they come to church on Sunday, to them, church living is just a formality. They have never connected their hearts with the brethren, nor intercede with one another and share burdens. There are also some believers who have prejudice against other brethren in their church living. They often uplift their own opinions, creating the tendency to have divisions. Why do people divide among themselves? It is because they only seek brethrens who share the same views as them, forming a group with them so that it strengthens their beliefs or views. However, they have never realized that what they think, see or decide can be subjective and self-centered. If they do not restore the unity of Spirit and perspective in all things through Lord’s truth, they cannot receive the spiritual cover from intercessions of saints, and will gradually drift away from the church. In fact, it is not Lord’s church losing its power to influence the world; instead, they cannot unite and move Holy Spirit into work because humanism and spirit of division have invaded into churches.  Often, the church cannot preach the gospel, it has much sickness, poverty, weaknesses, family problems etc, these happened not because of lack of prayers or concerns, rather, it is the problem of lack of unity in the spirit of the brethren. In a congregation who only look to own interest and not the interests of others, evangelism will become an item or responsibility, not a heartfelt vitality. Yet the differences of men are not easily solved, in this, saints have to humble themselves before the example of how Christ surrendered to the Father. In this, unity will come from Holy Spirit, and God will also reveal His perfect will timely. Therefore, when Paul talked about the unity of churches, he especially encouraged believers to have the attitude that is same as that of Christ Jesus.
