There’re many people who seek healing and liberation in churches today because in their spirits and living, they truly see many illnesses within themselves. There’re many who come to Christ and meet God because of their personal problems, and God’s healing has truly come upon them. But there’re also many people who have met God and received momentary liberation falling back to their old problems very soon after. Their spirits return to the former fear, anxiety, un-peacefulness; their living and interpersonal relationships also return to the former confusion or dilemma. Why is this so? Is it because Christ’s healing is not holistic, or man’s illness is too severe? Actually, when man continues to seek for many reasons and ways in their own dilemmas, they will enter into a more complex faith. Not only healing doesn’t come, new problems will continue to enter their lives. This is because they do not receive the step-by-step healing from the gospel of Christ. In fact, the healing God has given to us through Christ is absolute. The healing that is in progress under His sovereignty and timetable is perfect, not needing any addition nor subtraction. But man’s ignorance and disbelief cause them to unable to experience this easy and powerful healing. Firstly, we ought to know that the root of all illnesses is the sin in man. And thus, the root of healing is sin being forgiven. If the forgiveness from Lord, the forgiver, has come upon us, healing will begin and potentiate in our lives immediately. What then is sin? Simply said, sin is making us as lord, deeming what we see, know, and think as the truths of life. Herein we thus denied the sovereignty and plan the Creator has in us. Therefore, the poverty, deformity, insufficiency, incomplete family, having nothing etc in our hearts become our pain and the reasons why we seek God. Generally, to someone who is conscious about his own illness, he will then focus on solving the problems he can feel, eg the weakness in his heart, the illness and pain of the body, the conflict in relationship, the disharmony in family, the financial poverty etc. Surely, these are visible illnesses. But these are just symptoms, not the root of illness. Man’s illness does not lie on it being incurable but man deriving satisfaction through having their symptoms relieved. Actually, the healing God wants to give us is deeper and more thorough than this. The flesh can only sense the pain of the flesh, but only the soul is aware of sin.  Think about it: If we only delight in having smooth sailing earthly lives, but disregard God in the world He created for us and the life He has planned for us, not believing in the truth and only pursue what our naked eyes see; even if we live like that, but we are not aware of it, nor mourn about it; if these root problems are not solved, how can we experience the swift and powerful healing by the Holy Spirit? Therefore, we need to clearly understand the key steps to healing.
