往往，我们在误差中只有后悔却很少反思。我们看错人、说错话、做错决定、反应不对等，我们只有感到后悔，却不深思为何我们会犯上这样的误差。其实，我们人最容易犯上的错就是被自己的心欺骗，而且不但一次，乃重复被骗。确实，人的心是一直向他说话，只是他没察觉，也不去深思与较量它，反倒受它牵引。倘若如此，我们就无形中掉入非常危险的光景，因为人心是极其诡诈的《耶17:9》。因此，神透过圣经向我们启示祂的真理。圣经不但是永久不变的真理，也显示那活着的神以祂活着的性情向世人说话。所以，学习圣经的目的不能只满足于学术的装备与神学的归正，更是要听见神随时随在向我们说话。那神又怎样向人说话呢？不是凭着人的想象，更不是以神秘的方法，乃是借着心中有真理的推论。在与神同行上，【推论】是非常必要的。我们在面对何事何人，必要先做出推断才能作出选择，不然我们就是靠感觉行事的人。正确的推论帮助我们领悟出这事上的所以为然，理解为何人情世故有如此的发生，最终使我们安稳在主的带领中。总而来说，我们学习了真理之后，当要从推论中认知神在告诉我们什么，不是盲目的平眼见或靠感觉来过信仰生活。确实，人的性情本是活泼的，当我们接触会变动的人、环境、事件与岁月，我们需要受那在我们心中的真理指教，才能得享神里头的智慧与能力。确实，当我们读经或解经时，我们需要作出合理的推论。当我们读历史时，我们需要作出有意义的推论；当我们读一篇报道时，需要作出适当的推断。当我们卷入人情世故的繁杂，或是面对人生百态的动向，我们需要作出推断才能作出适当的选择。《罗2:15》告诉我们说：我们的是非之心同作见证，并且它们的思念互相较量，以至我们来到是非的结论。神也在《赛1:18》告诉祂那活在罪中的百姓要与祂辩论。确实，神不喜欢我们过一种形式与虚假的信仰，这样一来，当我们面对现实的难处，我们不是依靠自己，就是向神发怨言。确实，我们的心需要听见神向我们说话。倘若我们熟读圣经，却不晓得在必要时作出推论，我们的心不能喜乐自由，我们也无法与神建立起那真切与实在的关系，信仰也就显得不真实了。其实，一个真真实实的信仰不是以理想的结果为乐，乃是因听见了神对他说什么而心里安稳喜乐。所以，一个不能在必要时作出适当与正确的推论的心是非常混乱的。特别，在一个情报泛滥的世代，当人没法从情报中作出推论是叫他的心更加的无知与无能。因此，一个信徒的成熟是从他能借着神的话能作出正确的推论，以至常常从中得教诲与平安。

We often regret only after our mistakes, and little do we introspect. We make wrong judgments about people, wrong decisions, speak the wrong thing, and respond wrongly etc, we only feel regretful instead of thinking deeper, why do we commit such a mistake? Actually, the mistake most easily committed is to be decieved by our own hearts, not only once but repeatedly. Indeed, human hearts are always talking to them, yet he does not realize, neither does he meditate on it, or contesting it; instead, he is led by it. If such is the case, unknowingly, we will fall into a very dangerous state, for the heart is deceitful above all things <Jer 17:9>. Therefore, God reveals to us His Word through the Bible. Not only is the Bible the timeless Truth, it also reveals the living God speaking to men through His living disposition. The purpose of learning the Bible cannot remain at satisfying the academic equipping or reforming the theology, we all the more need to hear God speaking to us any time and anywhere. How then is God speaking to men? Not through men’s imagination nor mystical methods, but through making inferences using the Truth in the hearts. In walking with God, 【inference】 is very necessary. In facing various things and people, we need to infer before we make a choice, if not, we are acting according to feelings. The right inferences help us to understand the many things in the world, and understand why things happen certain ways, and eventually enable us to have security in God’s leading. All in all, after learning about the Word, we need to infer what God is telling us, rather than living our faith through sight or feelings. Man’s disposition is living and active; when we engage changing people, environment, matters or time, we need to be instructed by the Truth in our hearts so that we can enjoy the wisdom and power in God. Certainly, when we read the Scripture or explain the verses, we need to make the appropriate inferences. When we read history, we need to make meaningful inferences; when we read an article, we need to make appropriate inferences. As we are drawn into the complexity of the world, or in face of the changing thrust of life, we need to infer in order to make the right choice. <Ro 2:15> tells us, “They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts sometimes accusing them and at other times even defending them, thus we will have the conclusion of right vs wrong. In <Is 1:18> God tells the people living in sin to reason with God. God does not delight in our habitual or hypocritical faith living, for when we face the difficulties of reality, we will either rely ourselves or grumble against God. Actually, our hearts need to hear God speaking to us. If we are well versed with the Bible, yet unable to make inferences, our hearts cannot rejoice or be freed, and we will not be able to build the genuine and realistic relationship with God, our faith will appear unreal. Actually, genuine faith does not delight in ideal outcomes; rather, it is having unshakeable joy in the heart when he hears what God is speaking to him. Therefore, a heart that fails to make the appropriate and right inferences is indeed a mess. In particular, in an information-proliferative era, when people are unable to infer from the news and information, his heart will grow more ignorant and powerless. The maturity of a believer depends on how he makes inferences from God’s Word, and always receives instruction and peace through it.
