我们常会听到有两种对神质疑的问题：一，就是如果神是存在的，为何世界有这么多痛苦的事？二，如果神是活着的，为何神许可这么多不公平的事情存在？在第一个问题打转的人是因为还不认识神的智慧----祂行万事的奇妙。再就是他也还未领会那十字架向他显明的大爱，那是永恒无限的爱，是不能以我们失去现在短暂的物质、成就、地位、亲人等，包括我们自己的性命来衡量的。我们地上的苦难是与罪有关系，但神会爱尽一切信祂之人，在他们的痛苦中与他们同在。在第二个问题中，我们可能会想到许多我们受冤屈的事，包括基督信仰被打压的国家与基督徒被逼害的事情。这纵然是个现实，但在这种种不公平的事件里头，上帝要将人指向救赎，也激动祂的百姓兴起来传扬那救赎的福音。试想，在一个堕落的世界里，我们人所求得的公平与神所许可的公平是有相当的差距。当我们各样条件好，能有信仰的自由，我们会将福音带出去吗？我们在灵里面会怜悯那些一直听不见福音的人而为他们焦急吗？历史告诉我们不会。耶路撒冷的门徒是因司提反所遭受的迫害与之后的逼迫才到处去放胆传福音，也向外邦人传。所以，当我们只有一种主观的公平观却看不到救赎的必要与迫切性时，我们就会无形当中失去一种属灵战斗力。我们不会深入体会救赎福音需要被广传的迫切性，相反的我们就会成为那种“在舒服与安逸境况中做事工”的信徒。（见证：在牧师家族里，姑姑是第一个信主，受尽许多逼迫，但神却兴起在家族中的神仆）。所以，当我们在这两个疑问作出很基础性的解答之后，我们要问到人是否有信仰权利与自由？这权利是从哪里来？这权利能不能受到我们的环境、周边的人，甚至政权限制呢？在我们还未回答这问题时，恐怕我们已经将眼目放在人所限制或给予的权利，不放在神所给予的权利。往往我们会听到一个孩子说：“我的父母不让我去教会”；或妻子说：“我的丈夫不同意我信，更不让我施洗”；或是国家宗教与安全局限制我们奉基督的名相聚。其实，当我们将眼目放在此处，屈服于这类的现况时，我们就会忘了人本来就是有信仰的潜在能力。所谓信仰就是一个人生活、动作、存留所安置在的一个本信念。人是不可能活在“无信仰”的，就算不信神，也信某种的思想。有的人信钱是一切，有的信亲情是一切，所以他为这些能付出一切。但如果我们今天所信的基督的那个“信”是全然来自神的工作，那等信是有灵里的潜在力，那是不但不能被抹杀，反而要是被压迫，那信更是会坚强起来。所以，在历史历代，基督信仰广传最快是透过圣民受逼迫发生的。因此，我们千万不要将太多的关注给予恐吓或是家人给予我们的情感勒索。信仰的东西是不管透过软硬兼施，不管是靠刀枪的力量或是靠爱情婚姻的力量都不能抹杀的。为何如此呢？因为那是造人灵魂的上帝放在人的心灵里的。

We often hear two kinds of questions on doubts about God: first, if God truly exists, why are there so much suffering in the world? Second, if God is indeed living, why does God allow the existence of unfair matters? People who linger on the first question have not known the wisdom of God, and how He is miraculously working in all things. Also, he may not have truly comprehended the great love revealed by the Cross, that eternal and infinite love, which is not something that can be measured by the loss of our present transient materials, achievements, status, loved ones, or even our own lives. The sufferings we have on earth are related to sin, but God will draw near to all who believe in Him, and be with them in their suffering. In the second question, perhaps we remember the many grievances we have towards things that happened, including the persecutions experienced by those in other nations because of their Christian faith. This is a reality, but in all these unfairness, God points people towards redemption, and provoke His people to rise up to proclaim the redemptive gospel. Try thinking, in a fallen world, indeed there is a gap between the fairness that human seeks and the fairness permissible by God. When all our conditions are good, with the freedom to believe, will we still bring this gospel out of us? Will we have this sense of urgency towards those who have not heard the gospel? History shows us that we would not. The disciples in Jerusalem were forced out of Jerusalem because of Stephen’s martyrdom, and then they started to preach the gospel boldly to all people including the Gentiles. Therefore, if we only embrace our subjective view on fairness that is without the urgency and necessity of redemption, we will lose the spiritual battle spirit unknowingly. We will not understand in deeper sense how urgent it is to preach this redemptive gospel, in contrary, we become the believers who “do ministry work in comfortable and smooth-sailing circumstances,” (testimony: in pastor’s family, my aunt was the first to come to Christ and she experienced much persecution, yet God continued to rise up His servants in the family). Therefore, when we go to the roots to answer these 2 doubts, we will then ask if believers have the rights and freedom to believe. Where does this rights come from? Can it be restricted by our surrounding, people around us, or even the government? Before we answer this question, we might have already put our focus on the authority restricted or given by men themselves, instead of the authority given by God. Often, we will hear from a child, “ my parents don’t allow me to go to church,” or the wife may say, “ my husband doesn’t agree with my faith, and doesn’t allow me to baptize,” or the religion and security of a country restrict the gathering of people in the name of Christ. Actually, when we put our focus here and yield to such circumstances, we will then forget the fact that men inherently have the power that comes from faith. Faith is how a man centers on a foundational belief in his living, actions, or existence. Man can never live in a “no belief” state. Even if they do not believe in God, they will believe in certain mindsets. Some believe that money is everything, some believe that kinship is, hence they give all of themselves to these. But if today, the Christ we believe in is the “faith” that is completely from God, that faith has a potential in the spirit, not only will it not be wiped out; instead, in persecution, that faith will be all the more strengthened. Therefore, through generations, the Christian faith has proved to spread more rapidly in times of persecution. We should not be overtly focused on the threats or the emotional blackmails of family. Faith is something that is inerasable regardless of hindrances or physical oppressions, not even the power of love or marriage. Why? Because it is something that God has placed in the spirit of men when He created the souls of men.
