带有堕落本性的我们认识“怕”比认识“爱”更甚。虽然我们人生里总会经历过爱与喜乐的力量，但惧怕的意念与回忆总是深根蒂固的存留在我们生命里。倘若我们注意每当我们在不同的场合动起我们的思维时，会发现多半不是爱与恩惠，乃是惧怕支配我们的心思，例如：经济的下滑会影响我的生计吗？人会对我印象会不好吗？我会吃亏吗？吃这个会不健康吗？确实，我们常常是先动起我们惧怕的心思与意志，也借此行事为人。因此，我们向人与事物的反应常常是倾向掩护、逃避、抵触、情绪，或是过度反应。这些多半都是惧怕带来的。其实，无论是从圣经或是从人的经历，我们都会看见惧怕不会带来好结果。扫罗因为害怕大卫会夺取他的王位，所以千方百计的要杀他，以致越陷越深。耶罗波安因为怕以色列民会回归大卫家，所以自己邱坛建殿，将不属利未族的人立为祭司，以致带来北以色列的祸患。今天，我们看见很多人因惧怕行事而都带来不好的结果。有的父母害怕孩子不懂得为自己设想，总帮他们做决定，以至孩子长大后没有主见；有的人害怕平穷，所以无法享受自己现在拥有的。试问我们个人的经历有否告诉我们说，若我们常常活在惧怕担忧里，总是不会看到理想的结果，那结果总是叫我们之后带有更多的担忧惧怕。《牧师几个见证：曾经膝盖有问题时，受到很多的情报影响，但却得不到关键的情报；遇到很多的医生，但遇不到最重要的医生，直到最后在祷告与服侍主当中心里得享安息，才遇到关键的事情和人，以至得着解脱；或者有时心里带着压力去家长会，总是听到老师们对孩子的评论使自己过后更操心，但每当心里确信神的应许而将忧虑卸给主时，总是与老师们有非常正面的交谈》。惧怕担忧，的确是属于黑暗的国，那是从人的罪根引发的。那会叫人的思绪一直被搅乱，眼睛一直被蒙蔽。所以，主常常与门徒说（就是复活后也是如此）：“不要害怕！愿你们平安!”，就是天使向玛利亚或野地的牧养人显现要报喜信时，也是说：“不要害怕！”因为撒旦常常是先用惧怕困住人的心，使人心狭窄与自我，无法全然的领受神的恩惠与帮助。那么，我们要克服惧怕，也要清楚要克服惧怕的理由何在。有些信徒知道了这方面的真理之后，因为不愿意有不好的事临到自己或自己家庭，所以要排除惧怕。这样便是以惧怕的心出发来要克服惧怕，因此毫无功效。我们信徒要克服惧怕不是因为要多得肉身与地上的好处，乃是因为要活在神的真理与慈爱中。《约壹4:16-18》告诉我们说神就是爱，在祂里头毫无惧怕。爱既完全，就将惧怕除去了。也许有些人会认为说：“若没有惧怕，我们怎么能进步呢？”他们认为若人有惧怕和担忧，就能促使他们有谨慎与进取的心。例如：因为怕失败或怕被淘汰，所以努力读书，努力做工，努力证明自己，努力前进。确实，我们看见这世界都是在这种的惧怕中来得取积极前进的能力，所以很多基督徒也不针对自己惧怕担忧的心来下功夫。他们有时也给家人惧怕的暗示，好帮助他们前进，例如：父母告诉孩子要好好读书，不然以后没前途。试想，如果我们基督徒用此方法来帮助人前进，那人绝对不会生出两种性情。第一，就是爱的性情。确实，爱才能给人无限的能力与创意。神在爱里面创造了世界，这爱带出了创造的精神与智慧。倘若神的爱成为我们行事为人的动机，我们所行的是以神为中心出发。倘若是因惧怕行事，我们便是以自己为中心出发了；第二，就是遵行神的性情。堕落的人只看见惧怕所带来的能力，但其实最大的能力是来自神的动工。神一动工，最有能力的政权也会倒塌，最有能力的武器也无法被使用，最不可能的事也会发生。保罗遵行了神的旨意，主为他开启了整个罗马的门。我们要明白，人按着惧怕而做的，做得再好也无法满足神的心。但一个人若按着神的旨意行事，他心里确信的是神的应许。这等信心满足了神的心，也必叫神动工。因此，惧怕是属于黑暗之国，也带来黑暗之国的力量，它不能带来爱的无限，也不能带来顺服神的能力。从此处，让我们来认识怎么在我们的人生中走出惧怕与担忧，以至能在主的荣耀中行事为人。

We, who have fallen nature, understand “fear” more than “love”. Despite experiencing much strength from love and joy in life, but the thoughts of fear and its memories seem to be so rooted in our lives. If we observe how our thoughts are triggered in various situations, we will discover that it is often fear that directs our thoughts, not love and grace. For example: will the economy downturn affect my living? Will people have bad impression of me? Will I suffer loss? Will it be unhealthy to eat this? Indeed, we often activate our fearful thoughts and will first, and then doing all things through it. Therefore, how we respond towards people and matters are inclined towards hiding, escaping, resisting, emotional, or overtly react. Most of them are brought by fear. Actually, whether it is biblical experiences or man’s experience, we will all see that fear brings bad outcomes. Because Saul was afraid that David would take away his throne, thus he plotted to kill him, only spiraling downwards himself. Jeroboam was afraid that the Israelites would return to the city of David, therefore he built his own altar, and made non-Levites the priest, bringing more calamities to North Israel. Today, we see how many reap bad outcomes as they act by fear. Some parents are concerned about their children that they cannot plan for their future, so they make decisions for them, resulting in their children growing up without their own opinions; some fear poverty, and thus unable to enjoy what they have now. Have our personal experiences informed us that, if we always live in fear and anxieties, we will always see non-ideal outcomes; and that outcomes often lead to even more anxieties and fear. <Pastor’s testimonies: I once had ankle issue, and was influenced by many information, yet none of them are critical information; I have met many doctors, but I did not meet the most important doctor, until in the end, I enjoyed the rest in my heart through prayers and serving the Lord, and I was led to meet crucial people and things, and received liberation; or I often feel burden as I attend parents meeting, and I would be more worried after the teachers gave some comments about my kids. But each time, as I believed in the promise of God and entrust my worries to the Lord, I can always have positive communication with the teachers>. Indeed, fear and anxiety belong to the kingdom of darkness, arisen from the root of sin. It always stirs ones’ thoughts, and the eyes continue to be veiled. Therefore, the Lord always tells the disciples (even after his resurrection),” do not fear! May you all have peace!” Even when the angels brought good news to Mary and the shepherds, they also said, “Do not fear!” because Satan is always enslaving human’s hearts with fear first, causing men to be narrow-minded and self-centered, unable to completely receive the grace and help from God. For us to overcome fear, we ought to clearly know the reason why we need to overcome fear. After knowing truths in this area, some believers are resistant towards fear because they do not wish bad things to come upon himself or families. This is tackling fear with a fearful heart, and is ineffective. We believers want to overcome fear not to receive more physical or earthly benefits, but because we want to live in the Truth and love of God. <1 Jn 4: 16-18> tells us God is love, there is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear. Some may assume that, “How can we improve if we do not fear?”  They thought that with fear and anxiety, they are propelled to be more cautious and have a motivated heart. For example: because of the fear of failure or being obsolete, therefore one studies and works diligently, and work hard to prove himself and progress. Indeed, we see how this world operates under this kind of fear to receive the strength to advance, hence many believers do not tackle their own fear and anxiety. Sometimes, they give their family the insinuation of fear, so as to help them to advance, eg: Parents telling the kids to study well, if not they will not have a future. Try thinking; if we Christians use such methods to help others to improve, it will not give rise to 2 kinds of temperaments. Firstly, the temperament of love. Love can give people infinite power and creativity. If the love of God becomes the motivation of our living, what we do is God-centered. If we act by fear, we are self-centered in doing all things; secondly, the temperament to submit to God. Fallen men only see the power that fear brings, but actually the greatest power is from the working of God. When God works, even the most powerful government will crumble, the most powerful weapons cannot be used, the most impossible thing can happen. Paul submitted to the will of God, and the Lord opened up the door to entire Rome. We need to understand, as man do things by fear, it will never satisfy God’s heart no matter how good he attempted. But as a person do according to the will of God, his heart firmly believed in the promise of God. Such faith pleases God’s heart, and will move God to work. Therefore, fear belongs to the kingdom of darkness, and brings forth the power of the kingdom of darkness; it will not bring the infiniteness of love, neither can it brings forth the strength to submit to God. Lets learn how we should walk out of the fear and anxieties in our lives, such that we can live in the glory of the Lord.
