当人落入重复的问题，他自然的反应就是寻找解脱。例如：婚姻有问题找辅导；经济有问题想办法多赚钱；侍奉有问题想停止服侍；不开心就寻乐；生活没滋味就找寻种种新体验等。其实，这些都是人性（从人离开神）落入问题时的一种应对法。不管是在心灵里或是实际上，人都不断的挣扎渴盼走出自己不理想的情况。可能有些人选择逃避或是坐以待毙，但是他们并不是没有挣扎，确实上他们心里非常无助，也不开心。当人不开心时，他在心里其实产生更多的欲望，以至他们更容易掉入试探。往往，我们看到有些人掉入各种的罪，例如：婚外情、赌博、吸毒、酗酒、狂欢、误入歧途、参加私会党等。其实，这些人里头毫无喜乐，满有私欲，然后很奇妙的，环境便在这时候带给他们某些的机遇，使他们落入魔鬼的网罗。有时候，我们基督徒也有可能会落入这样的光景。特别当我们处在重复的问题，消沉的情绪无法得解脱时，我们就会挣扎要得解脱。其实，这种解决问题的“习惯”是我们从信主前带入信主的生涯中的。我们没有往着圣经所启示我们的要道来面对我们的问题，所以我们一直无法从问题走出来，且无法得医治。圣经明明告诉我们的事实是神叫万事互相效力，使爱神的人得益处。所以，我们从问题走出来是一定要透过让主凡事居首位。确实，【让主居首位】和【找寻解脱】在本质上是有一定的不同的。找寻解脱总是以自己的意思出发，哪怕是我们有反省反思问题的所在，我们还是从自己的角度出发，盼望能达成自己的结果。但如果我们的心意是要让主居首位，我们的心思意念是会被带到“主怎么说”。例如：主说幸福是什么、家庭是什么、关系是什么、钱财是什么等，然后如何在这一切让祂居首位呢？一旦主居首位了，我们才能开始从那问题的根源走出来。其实，人一直无法从问题走出来是因为不愿意（透过真理）对付自己，其次就是等不及的问题（以果效为中心），所以问题一再发生。试问：何谓基督居首位呢？其实，基督死而复活之后，祂已经证明祂是在凡事上居首位了。这天上地下，看得见与看不见的，一切的政权、势力、主治都其实在祂的权柄之下。一切的情况、发生、处境都有神绝对善良、纯全、可喜悦的旨意。但是，让基督居首位就是将主的旨意显明在人的心中，也透过人的顺服而实现出来。有时候，我们纵然有我们的理想。例如：我们为我们的婚姻、儿女、工作、服侍来祷告，也盼望有所改变。或者我们将我们的期待与向往带到主面前是没错的，但是我们一定要看见主怎么借着真理与圣灵来成就祂的美意。可能我们为着配偶的软弱祷告，但主在当儿也医治我们。可能我们为着孩子的学习求恩，但我们也从中认识了孩子的心声，也为下一代人祷告。可能我们为着工作顺利祷告，但我们可能得着对工作与人际方面的另一番领悟，以至能跨越那短暂的事物，在一切所做的将荣耀归给神。确实，神所做的是多么的无限，且超过我们所求所想的。在这一切当中，主终久要使我们参与祂的荣耀，以至主如何，我们也能如何。这就是让神凡事居首位了。可能我们在自己狭小的眼光中看不见神这浩大的能力与作为，但只要我们认识了让基督居首位的重要，也将此成为我们信仰的追求，我们最终必然从那重复性的问题走出来，且看见主透过我们生命要成就的又大又难的事。

When men fall into recurrent problems, the natural response is to find liberation. For e.g.: If there are marital issues, we look for counseling; if we have financial issue, we think of ways to earn more money; if serving has problem, we stop serving; if unhappy, we look for fun; if life is boring, we look for new experiences etc. Actually, all these are types of coping mechanisms when humanity (from the moment humans departed from God) fall into problems. Whether it is in the spirit or in actual reality, men constantly struggle and hope to walk out of the non-ideal situations they are in. Perhaps some choose to run away or do nothing, but they are not without struggles. Actually, their hearts feel helpless, and they are unhappy. When people are unhappy, more desires are produced in them, so much so that they fall into temptations more easily. Often, we see some people fall into various sins, e.g.: extramarital affairs, gambling, drug addiction, alcoholism, reckless fun, go astray, join secret societies etc. In fact, they are devoid of joy within, only full of selfish desires, and strangely, the environment will bring them certain encounters causing them to fall into traps of the devil. At times, we Christians may also end up in these states. Especially when we remain in recurrent problems, and when we cannot break free from our negative emotions, we will struggle to receive liberation. The “habit” to solve issues is something we bring into our faith from our pre-believing time. For we have not faced our problems with the truth revealed in the Bible, thus we are always stuck in our problems, and remain unhealed. The Bible clearly tells us that God will work all things for the good of those who love Him. Therefore, it is through allowing Christ to take supremacy that we can walk out of our problems. Indeed, [letting Christ reign supremely] and [seeking liberation] are inherently different. The latter proceeds from our own desires, even if we consider all aspects of the problems; we still stem from our own point of view, hoping to attain our desired outcomes. But if our desire is to let Christ reign supremely, our hearts and minds will be brought to the level of “what does the Lord say”. For example: what is bliss, relationships, finances according to the Lord, and how do we allow Him to reign supremely in all these? Once our Lord has supremacy, we can then start to walk out of the root problem. Actually, men cannot walk out of their problems because they are unwilling to deal with themselves (through the truth), followed by their impatience (outcome-centered), thus their problems never stop. Try asking: What does it mean to let Christ reign supremely? After the death and resurrection of Christ, He has proved that He is supreme in all things. In heaven and earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through Him and for Him. All situations and their occurrences are embedded with the good, perfect, and pleasing will of God. Letting Christ reign supremely is to reveal God’s will in humans’ hearts, and live it out through their submission. At times, despite our ideals, e.g. we pray for our marriage, children, work, and serving, and hope for some things to change. It is not wrong to bring our anticipation and longing before the Lord. However, we must see how the Lord accomplish His perfect will through the truth and Holy Spirit. We may pray for the weaknesses of our spouse, but God also heals us in this. Maybe we ask for grace in our children’s learning, but through these we also understand the hearts of children, and pray for the next generation. Perhaps we pray for our job to be smooth-sailing, but we may receive new insights through work and interpersonal relationships, such that we can overcome what is transient, and give all glory to God. Actually, what God can do is infinite, and beyond what we ask and imagine. In all these, the Lord still wants us to join in His glory, such that we do as the Lord does. This is letting God be supreme in all things. Perhaps our narrow-minded perspectives cannot see the immense power and works of God, but if we recognize the importance of Christ’s supremacy, and make it the pursuit of our faith, we will surely walk out of the recurrent problems eventually, and see how God accomplishes great and unsearchable things through our lives.
