有很多人来了教会,他们真切的问题并没有得到解决。他们参加了崇拜之后回家,心灵的光景,看己看人看事的眼光仍旧一样。因此,他们家庭的光景一样,人际关系也一样。但他们继续过着一样的教会生活,以习惯性的形式来敬拜神。这等人有很多种类,但可见他们来教会,寻找的并不是上帝,乃是找好感、心里的安苏、人的关系、服侍,甚至是一种知识伦理。他们没有遇见神,所以灵里面的重担,罪的辖制还在他们身上。另外一种人是来教会认识神,但很奇怪的,他们并没有将自己的劳苦重担交给耶稣。他们敬拜主,向主祷告,甚至是侍奉主,但这当中不知为何心灵总是得不着自由喜乐。久而久之,当生活的需求多起来,他们便发现自己的重担压力难堪,连侍奉的力量都没有了。他们渐渐成为了心里脆弱与不能喜乐的信徒,因无力侍奉主心里常常隐藏着控告。这样的信徒就算是放掉服侍、减少来聚会、多过轻松的生活、甚至是出国旅游也无法从劳苦重担走出来。这是为何呢?因为劳苦重担本是心里的问题,不是环境情况的问题。这个心(灵魂的中心)与神之间的关系、相交、同行的问题若没有得着解决,一切得解脱的方法是无效的。确实,现代的人受到各种的压力重担,因此他们一直要寻求解脱。我们常常会很容易在网络上看见那些减压方策,例如:十种减压法。这类学说教导人要怎么平衡自己的心,怎么调整饮食习惯或是锻炼身体来减压。另外,在宗教层面我们也会听到有关苦难的学说,如同佛教的四圣谛、八正道类的教导,也以打坐和修行来倒空自己,好减除人的私欲,以免因私欲而潜入在重担里。其实,这类世界与宗教的学说都是出自与“人没有神的启示当中的挣扎、分析、沉思凝想”所推论出来得解脱的方法和伦理。他们都靠着一般启示的领悟,但因为他们没有神特别启示的真理,他们欠缺了对人灵魂的构造真实的认识。耶稣说:“凡劳苦但重担的人可以到我这里来,我就使你们得安息”《太11:28》。确实,人离开神之后没有安息。亚当夏娃的羞愧,该隐的流离飘荡都是从他们无法得到安息的结果来的。因为神离开了他们,他们内心里面有一个无底的空虚。纵然他们寻找方法、宗教,以杀害强夺来得取,或是建城与繁殖来统治世界,他们的内心的空虚不能解脱。他们的内心里总存有罪的重担与无意义的劳苦。这等劳苦重担是只有来到基督面前才能得解放。因为基督就是神,是那担当人的罪债与满足人心的那位创造主,只有祂能使人得安息。那么,我们在此要问两个最关键的问题。第一,何谓来到基督面前?几乎来到教会的或是宣称基督为主的人都说他们是来到基督面前,究竟来到基督面前的凭证何在?另外,何谓主耶稣说的“安息”?安息是一种休闲、安逸或是爽朗的感觉吗?那是什么都不做,然后看见神做吗?使徒们都在困苦、急难、逼迫、劳苦等中得到这等安息。其实,我们很多时候都以自己自然的感悟制造出我们对真理的认识。若我们没有全面的认识真理,然后在那“不是这么容易得安息的环境中”寻求主,我们便很容易进到主观感受所渴盼的安息。在此,我们当清楚认识神的道而得着正确的信仰体验。
Many come to church but their real problem is not resolved. After service, when they returned home, their spiritual state, perspectives towards things and people are still the same. As such, the state of their families and their interpersonal relationships remain the same. However, they continue to lead the same church living, worshipping God out of habit. There are many of such people, but one can see that they do not come to church to look for God, but for positive vibes, for peace in the heart, for interpersonal relationships, for serving, or even for knowledge and ethics. They did not encounter God, therefore they have burden in their spirits and the bondages of sin plague them. Another type of people come to church to know God, but strangely they did not cast their burdens upon Jesus. They worshipped the Lord, prayed to the Lord and even served the Lord, but in the midst of these they cannot enjoy freedom and joy. Not long after, when the demands of life increase, they find that their burdens are overwhelming and they lose the strength to serve. They gradually become believers who are weak in the heart and cannot be joyful, feeling accused because they cannot serve the Lord with all their heart. Such believers may reduce their serving, cut back on church attendance, try to lead a more relaxed life, even going overseas for holidays, but they cannot come out from their burdens and weariness. Why is that so? Because burdens and weariness is a problem of the heart, not a problem of external circumstances. If the problem of the relationship, communion, alignment between this heart (centre of the soul) and God is not resolved, all methods of liberation are ineffective. Indeed, the modern person is under all kinds of stress and burdens and he seeks liberation. On the Internet, we will easily find ways to relieve stress, for example: 10 ways to relieve stress. Such articles teach men how to balance their heart, adjust their diet and habits, exercise to reduce stress. On the other hand, at the religious level, we will hear teachings on sufferings, like Buddhism’s Four Noble Truths, Noble eightfold paths, and they recommend meditation and cultivation to empty oneself and eliminate human desires, so that desires does not become burdens. Actually, such worldly or religious teachings and methods to get liberation arise from “struggles, analysis and deep thinking of men without the revelation of God”, they rely on the understanding of common revelation, but because they do not have God’s special revelation of the truth, they lack the true understanding of the construct of man’s soul. Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” <Mt 11:28> Actually, after man is separated from God, he has no rest. The shame of Adam and Eve and the exile of Cain were the result of not having rest. Because God had left them, they had a bottomless emptiness in their hearts. Although they sought methods and religions, used murder and power to gain things, built cities or multiplied to dominate the world, the emptiness in their hearts persisted. Their inner heart would always have the burden of sin and meaningless labour. Such burdens and weariness can only be liberated by Christ. Because Christ is God, He is the one who bore the debts of sin and He is the Creator who can truly satisfy our hearts, and only He can give people rest. Therefore, we must ask two critical questions. Firstly, what does it mean to come before Christ? Almost all who come to church or proclaim Jesus as Lord will say they are coming before Christ, but what is the evidence of coming before Christ? The second question is, what is the “rest” Jesus spoke about? Is it recreation, comfort or pleasurable feelings? Does it mean doing nothing and then see God working? The apostles all received such rest in difficulties, hardships, persecutions, toil etc. Actually, many a times, we use our own natural sense to create our understanding of the truth. If we do not know the truth holistically, and do not seek the Lord in that “environment that is not so easy to find rest”, we will easily go into the rest that our subjective feelings yearn for. We must clearly understand the Word of God and receive the right faith experience.
