When Thessalonians believers were tested, Paul was most concerned about their faith. A small group leader who is shepherding the small group for God is not just focused on helping their members solve their problems but he is more concerned for their faith. Because when they have faith, they will surely see God’s protection and prayers answered more than what they can ask or imagine. When members are facing practical situations, although we do not object starting with love and compassion, the leader must have an objective view, to help believers have the same heart and love. When everyone proposes a solution out of their love, the leader must know how to bring the brethren with such situation before the Lord, and help him face the Lord in his problems, so that everyone will pray for that brother to have the faith to rely on the Lord and delight in the Lord, to the extent that the brother is willing for others to pray for him in such a direction too. This is how a small group can manifest God’s divine glory in times of troubles. The cohesiveness of a small group is meant to bring about such beautiful relationships and spiritual breakthroughs.
