属灵的奥秘本身是不容易掌握的，所以有时候我们学习慢一点是没有关系，但很重要是不要重复失败。我们活在地上是一定有难处。人与环境都会带给我们一定的挑战。但关键是当那挑战临到时，我们怎么靠着那加给我力量的在那环境中行出神的旨意，彰显基督的荣美。当我们说“不要重复失败”，指的并不是取得的结果好不好，乃是我们怎么应对那个环境的问题。保罗被关在监狱里，他结果有没有被释放不是重点，但重要是他在当儿怎么靠着圣灵应对那个环境，以至他带出了怎么靠主喜乐《腓4:10》，靠主见证福音的兴盛《腓1:12》，靠主跨越生死的惧怕《腓1:20》。在这里并非强调他遇到什么乐观的结果，乃是他的【心改变了】！其实，很多信徒对天国的认识是以结果为中心 – 例如：我的病有没有好、我的儿女有否听话懂事、福音的门有否敞开，或是我现在的感受等。所以他们不但看不见天国，反而常常错认天国，有些人也制造“自己的天国”，将牵强的见证一直要带出来。其实，天国的临到是我们怎么靠着心中得胜的主来解释与应对环境的那个过程。这如同我们在病痛当中，怎么确认神的作为而发现了这病痛带给我与旁边的人的蒙恩；或是在儿女的软弱中看见主透过这过程叫我怎么更理解儿女与很多其他父母的心声；或是看见主现在放我在的现场中已经有能祝福的人了。在此，我们的心经历变化。这就是看见天国，且是天国临在了。其实，这无形的天国是越看见，越能够体感，越能够享用的；但越看不见，越是无能，越会制造假象。那么，我们来思考我们重复的失败在哪里？为何常看不到天国？有些人是一旦环境临到，马上落入自己的自然倾向。确实，我们每个人都有与生俱来，与天国相反的倾向。有些人是遇到环境，马上屈服与忧虑与惧怕，不然就是因无助而想着要逃避。例如：有些人一旦在工作上面对强烈压力，就什么都不做，然后开始刷手机；有些人是一焦虑，就讲很多无畏的话；有的人是一面对众人的要求，就开始退缩。其实，这些看起来都是常人的反应，有些人说这是一种应对机制，但其实是我们堕落本性的“软弱倾向”。那是来自我们心里面接受不对的声音，以至作出的反应。另外一个是每当环境一来时，我们立时就依靠自己的强项。有口才的人就靠口才，机智的人就靠机智，有经验的人靠经验。其实，这又是我们另外一种倾向，可被称为“骄傲的倾向”。不管软弱的倾向或骄傲的倾向都不能叫我们靠着那加给我们力量的。其实，所谓“加给我力量”的意思就是有而外（上头）而来的力量。那是我们预料不到，且是超出我们能力的范围。所以，每当众圣徒遇到困境，不留在无助里，反而更是在一起同心合意地依靠主，经历祂“加添的能力”《徒4:24-31》，天国的文化就在此被树立起来了。这也就如同保罗所说：「神能照着运行在我们心里的大力，充充足足地成就一切，超过我们所求所想的」《弗3:20》。

The mystery of the Holy Spirit by itself is not easy to grasp. Hence, it is alright if we sometimes take a bit longer to learn this. The important thing is we do not repeatedly fail in this area. We definitely have difficulties in our lives on earth especially through interaction with people and the environment. The critical point is when the challenge comes, how do we live out God’s will through Him who gives us strength and display the glory of God. When we say to “not repeatedly fail”, it does not mean that this outcome is favorable or otherwise but how we should respond to that environment. Paul was imprisoned, the critical point was not whether he would be released eventually but what was important was how he relied on the Holy Spirit to respond to that environment, and as a result how to be joyful in the Lord <Php 4:10>; serve to advance the gospel in the Lord <Php 1:12>; transcend the fear of death in the Lord <Php 1:20>. Here, the emphasis is not whether he had a positive outcome but that his [heart has changed]. Actually, the understanding of the heavenly kingdom, by many believers, is centred on the outcome. E.g. Whether I am recovered from my illness, whether my children are obedient and sensible, whether the doors of evangelism are opened, or my current feelings etc. Actually, not only do they not see the heavenly kingdom, instead they often misunderstand the heavenly kingdom and some even invent “their own heavenly kingdom”, and continue to force out testimonies. Actually the coming of the heavenly kingdom is a process of how we explain and respond to our environment in the Lord, through victories in our hearts. This is like us when we are sick and in pain, how do we confirm the work of God in the midst, and truly discover how this sickness and pain can bring about the blessedness of the people around us; in the weakness of our children, God allows us to see and understand the heartfelt struggles of many parents; or be able to see that I am already able to bless others with the current conditions that God has given me. From this, our hearts experience transformation. This is witnessing the heavenly kingdom, and that the heavenly kingdom has come. Actually, the more we see this intangible heavenly kingdom, the more we can experience and enjoy it; but the more we cannot see, the more helpless and the more we will create illusion. Now, let us ponder, where is the area where we repeatedly fail? Why is it that we often cannot see the heavenly kingdom? When situations change, some people immediately reveal their natural tendency. Truly, all of us have an innate tendency that is in opposition to the heavenly kingdom. Some people are immediately helpless when they meet with certain conditions, some people immediate surrender, or be worried and fearful. If not, some people become helpless and just want to escape. E.g. when faced with extreme pressure at work, some people just do not want to do anything and start to meddle with their phone; some people will start to make unnecessary statements when they are anxious; some people retreat when faced with demands of the masses. Actually, these are all common responses. Some people call it coping mechanisms, but actually, it is a “weak tendency” of our fallen nature. It comes from us not receiving the correct voices and hence react accordingly. Another issue is when the situation comes to us, we immediately respond using our strengths. Those who are eloquent will rely on their eloquence, those who are resourceful will rely on their resourcefulness and those with experience will rely on their experience. Actually, this is another type of tendency which can be termed as “proud tendency”. Whether it is weak or proud tendency, neither can give us strength through Him. Actually, the meaning of “gives me strength” has an additional power (from above). This is not something we can anticipate and it is beyond our range of capabilities. Therefore, whenever believers encounter difficult situations, do not stay in helplessness. Instead, be even more united in our hearts to rely on the Lord and experience His “additional power” <Ac 4:24-31>, the culture of heavenly kingdom will then be set up. This is as what Paul had said, “To him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us.” <Eph 3:20>.
