Our lives on earth will unavoidably have encounters of suffering that cause us to be worried, fearful, hurt and sad. Some people even bring such sufferings with them for a long time, and even at the present, are still carrying the burden of those sufferings. But if we have grasped the mystery of success which God has already given us in Christ, we will be able to stop the suffering immediately and even be more than conquerors. Therefore, to challenge suffering is not to ask it to depart but to overcome it. Actually, suffering is not really in situations that are not favorable or in dreadful conditions of a person. The real source of suffering is from a muddled heart that does not understand God’s perfect will; that disbelieves and is non-submissive. In actual fact, when a Saint truly understands the meaning of suffering and is no longer afraid of suffering, but at the moment he is able to enjoy God’s grace as he suffers, he can be set free from all his sufferings, and receive seven times the blessings through his sufferings and can therefore bless many other people who are still in suffering. Before this, it will definitely not happen. When a person is especially young in age and he has not believed God for long, he has to go through myriad aspects of life experiences to hear the Holy Spirit’s teachings and shatter himself. Otherwise, a man’s fabricated ideals, success ideology, a physique that is inclined to the flesh and the boasting of his life will control him, and become a channel which will often cause him suffering. Actually, life is like an arena, a place to compete and train. Therefore, it is only when we regard all things and matters in life as teaching materials, centre on restoring Christ (perfect will), we can then lead a meaningful life and receive blessings and crowns from each suffering. Although those who have already received experience through suffering often receive attacks and persecutions from the evil one through the world, they may not feel the pain but can instead enjoy a greater victory, which the suffering brings. Paul depiction of the sufferings he experienced in 2 Corinthians was not to boast about himself, but because there were some carnal believers in the Corinthian church who looked down on Paul due to the sufferings that he experienced, and therefore despised his authority in teaching. Paul did not mean to defend himself but to prevent the church as a whole from losing what he had taught, the words of blessings that he had given, he clarified his apostolic authority and spoke of the purpose and blessings for his sufferings. Through this clarification, Paul hoped to comfort those blessed brethrens who have sacrificed for the church but experienced sufferings.
