生活与侍奉本身有它一定的挑战。在需求多与节奏快的社会要守时本身一定有难处。在公司要处理事务，且要管理不同性格与想法的员工当然有它的难处。在繁忙的生活中要守着聚会一定不容易。在教会的服侍中要推陈出新也当然有一定的挑战。有些人就是怕辛苦，或是不喜欢麻烦，所以一遇到难题就放弃。这就是我们习惯活在一个舒适与方便的现代信徒特别要多祷告之处。《伯5:7》告诉我们：人生在世必遇患难，如同火星飞腾；《传1:8》也说：万物满有困乏...。试想我们能没有挣扎就能在生活与服侍中结出美好的果子吗？很多时候，当人承受不了患难与困乏时，就自然会落入恼怒与埋怨，埋怨之后其实更无力胜任其任务。有些信徒则是强逼自己的意志来应对挑战，对自己的生命也没有好处。若我们这样下去来支撑我们的生活与侍奉，我们无法享受主为我们预备的关系（特别家人关系与肢体关系）。其实，重点不在于我们能否胜任所托付我们的职责。在现今社会里，我们要找到有责任感，且足智多谋的人不难。人都懂得上网找寻资讯，用捷径来办妥事情。但是圣经告诉我们那真正能排除难关，且胜任各种事物的人是那在面对各种挑战时能常常喜乐，不住的祷告，且凡事谢恩的人。这等人是那活在神的旨意，且懂得靠着圣灵的能力来应对生活种种挑战的信徒《帖前5:16-18》。所以，我们若在生活侍奉中一遇到难关或障碍就放弃，或是怕麻烦就放弃，那我们不但是在属灵的事上，就是连一般生活中也得不着上好的福分。那倘若我们辛辛苦苦的胜任，却没有喜乐，也不能在生活、侍奉、参加聚会中享受神的引导，那我们也支撑不久。可能渐渐的，我们就会因那长久的服侍与繁重的生活来发怨言，起争论。首先，让我们试想若我们要带出美好的服侍与过有效力的生活，我们能不需要挣扎吗？当我们要做一样东西，我们一定要祷告，然后为那事设想、挣扎与琢磨才能做得好。例如：若我们要参加教会周间的聚会，我们需要怎么事先安排时间与家庭的事物，才能没有后顾之忧的参加聚会。我们要处理人际关系，一定要设想他人的难处与感受，不是单单以自己的想法与感受出发而已。这些都是我们要放进祷告的一部分。特别，我们最难的地方往往是：① 我们要办一些我们不太喜欢，且是必须要做的事情。对有些人来说可能是处理人事、做家务、教训孩子等；② 我们要做一些我们不太习惯的事情，或说我们不常做的事情。其实，有时新的服侍与生活中的挑战就是这样临到。我们必要时也需要抽出时间，且预备心应对挑战，才能排除难关。特别，当我们要将我们的家庭与教会带入另一个蒙恩的时间表，我们需要认识如何靠主排除难关。这如同保罗也常常靠着神在他心中运用的大能，以劳苦尽心竭力的服侍圣民，且在当中用百般的智慧，劝诫各人，教导各人，把各人在基督里完完全全地引到神面前《西1:28-29》。这些都是显出我们圣民爱主爱教会的心。当然，这里头最重要的秘诀就是我们要懂得怎么依靠神在我们里头所运用的大能。

Our lives and serving by themselves certainly have their challenges. In a fast-paced society where demands are great, there are difficulties in being able to keep to them. In a company, there are many issues to handle, and to manage employees of different personalities and opinions has its difficulties. It is definitely not easy to consistently attend church meetings in a busy life. Having to continually innovate in church serving also has its challenges. Some people are afraid of hard work or they do not like inconvenience, so they give up when they encounter difficulties. This is where we are used to living comfortably and conveniently and this is especially where believers in this era have to put in more prayers. <Job 5:7> tells us that, “Yet man is born to trouble as surely as sparks fly upward”; <Ecc 1:8> also says, “All things are wearisome...” Imagine, is it possible for us to bear good fruits if there are no struggles in our lives and serving? Many a times, when people cannot bear the trials and tiredness, they will naturally fall into a state of anger and complaints. After complaining, they are actually more incapable of doing their tasks. Some believers forcefully use their own will to cope with the challenges. This, too, is not beneficial to their own lives. If we continue in this way to sustain our lives and serving, we cannot enjoy the relationship that the Lord has prepared for us (in particular, family relationships and brethren relationships). In fact, the critical point is not whether we can deliver the duties entrusted to us. In today's society, it is not difficult for us to find people who are responsible and resourceful. Everyone knows how to find information online and use shortcuts to get things done. But the Bible tells us that those who can really overcome difficulties and are competent in all kinds of things are those who can rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances. These people are living in God’s will and they know how to rely on the power of the Holy Spirit to manage the various challenges in life <1 Th 5:18>. Therefore, if we give up when we encounter difficulties or obstacles in our lives and serving, or give up due to the fear of inconvenience, then not only do we not receive the better blessing in spiritual matters, but also in our general life. If we only work diligently to perform our duties, but have no joy and we cannot enjoy God's guidance in our lives, serving, and at church meetings, it will not be sustainable for long. Gradually, we will start to grumble or get into disagreement because of the long serving and busy living. First of all, let us ponder, can we not struggle if we want to bring out good serving and live an effective life? When we have to do something, we must pray, and in order to do well, we will have to consider, struggle and ponder over the issues. For example, if we are going to attend a weekday church meeting, we need to plan our time and matters at home in advance so that we can attend meetings without worries. To deal with interpersonal relationships, our starting point should not be our own thoughts and feelings but we must consider the difficulties and feelings of others. These are what we should all put into our prayers. In particular, the most difficult areas we often face are: (1) We have to do things that we do not really like but yet it is necessary. For some people, it may be to handle interpersonal matters, do housework, teach the children, etc. (2) We need to do things that we are not used to, or things we do not often do. In fact, sometimes new serving and challenges in life come in this way. We also need to make time when necessary and prepare our hearts to manage challenges in order to overcome difficulties. In particular, when we want to bring our family and church into another blessed timetable, we have to know how to rely on the Lord to overcome difficulties. This is like Paul, who often strenuously contended with all the energy Christ so powerfully worked in his heart, to serve the holy people, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that he may present everyone fully mature in Christ <Col 1:28-29>. All these display the love we saints have for the Lord and for the church. Of course, the most important secret is to know how to rely on the great power of God that is in us.
