这个世界充满人与人所给予我们的经历。当我们一上学，开始接触到各种人的经历。当我们上班接触人时，就开始进一步经历到人的复杂关系。当我们结了婚，就开始经历与另外一个人一起相处相爱。当我们的教会人多起来，有各种人走进来，而每个人都来自不同的背景，拥有不同的个性，我们很多时候就经历到被人塑造，且塑造人；或是被人观察，且观察人。很多时候，我们在人给予我们的经历中作出选择。可能我们选择逃避群众，或是我们选择跟我们所喜悦的人在一起，或者我们就开始适应不同个性与做事法的人。当然这是我们人的自然反应。但是对于一个认识福音的人，在我们接触各种人的时候，一定要被带到一个结论，就是「人都是一样的，但也都不一样」。与其我们对人先做出判断与选择，我们不如先从神的话来认识万人。首先，人都是一样的。人的罪都是一样的，都犯了罪，亏欠神的荣耀《罗3:23》。人自私、惧怕、贪心、受控告时，可能他表露出来的是不一样，但他的心境都是一样的。他隐藏自己，要保护自己，要为自己多得什么的心是一样的。他靠自己没有办法从这样的光景里走出来。但也因为人有罪，人性且是软弱的，所以都需要被救赎。因此，当神将祂的独生子差遣来拯救世人时，圣经说：“神爱世人...”《约3:16》神知道世人需要的是什么，就是爱。当他知道有人爱他，且在他无助当中有人前来帮助他，他的心是自然被释放、被保护，且被坚强的。这爱是来自那创造人，也全然认识人生命的主。人是看不见这个爱，所以他寻找一切人间的，且有限的爱，以致一直掉入失望。但是人的灵魂是需要这创造者的救赎与大爱的。很多时候，我们一直摸索怎么向这样的人，这样的民族，或是有某某宗教信仰的人传福音。我们研究他们的个性、文化、背景、想法等，但我们在这当中忘了他的人性是与普世人一样的。若我们真明白这道理，就不会因人的刚硬和软弱感到太过无助。可能有些人听了，觉得这是很简单的道理。但是为什么我们与人接触和相处往往这么难？因为我们要知道除了人是一样的，还有另一个深奥的道理，就是人都是不一样的。人的背景、个性、看事情的角度、心里的障碍、做事法、表达法都不一样。因为这不一样的缘故，人与人之间若不深入理解，在相处中很容易会有误会和摩擦产生。当这误会和摩擦继续不解决，人与人的心就会关上了。这也就是为什么我们在主里要深切的认识彼此，不单单是只有在表面上认识一个人的个性而已。有时，我们与旁边人的理解是只有建立在一起做一些事物上的事而已，但没有深入认识他整个人。有时当我们朝向一个目标或要办妥一些事情时，我们不能理解为什么另一个人不能与我配合，或是一个人不能合群。我们因此就无形中对他产生很多的看法，或是以自己的水准来判断他。这就是我们还没有看透“人都是一样的”，不然就是我们还没有明白“人都是有不一样的”。其实，福音是教导我们怎么将这两个的道理一起融合在我们心中。有时，我们很容易偏向其中一个道理。例如：若我们做父母的能将孩子教好，我们就会说所有的孩子都是一样的。但另一个父母可能无法将孩子教好，他就会说自己的孩子与其他孩子不同，因此没这么容易教。其实，这都是人的主观性所带来的。倘若我们能将这两方面都看得越全面与越准确，我们对人的爱心与容量就越来越大。我们与人相处的智慧就越来越多。想想，为什么我们将来回到天家每个人都截然不一样，但是不会有任何冲突、埋怨、比较、惧怕等，也不会有这些所带来的悲哀、哭号、疼痛等？《启7:9》告诉我们到时都有从各国、各族、各民、各方来的。试想有这么多不同的人相聚在一起，但我们却能够全然和睦。难道我们那时无所不能吗？难道我们那时没有需要了吗？难道我们那时没有冠冕的差异吗？不然！但是在那时，我们有两样东西。一，我们没有罪了。当我们的罪身一脱去，我们一切的有限或差别不会成为我们埋怨或比较的管道，乃是成为我们重视与帮补彼此的心。二，圣经说那时不再用灯光或日光，反而神是我们的光，要照耀我们《启22:5》。换句话，我们不会再陷入黑暗和黑暗的惧怕、缺乏、无助等。我们的心灵完完全全的被神满足。有时候，我们不太能理解或体会那个光景，因为太过不可思议了。但是现在每当我们众圣徒相聚时，特别当我们在面对彼此的软弱、有限、缺乏，或是不同之处，我们要学习如何操练天国。特别，在人都是一样，但也都不一样的这个微妙的福音道理中，我们在认识人方面要得着一个更深奥，且更实际的眼光与心肠。

This world is full of experiences given us by people. The moment we went to school, we started to have experiences with all kinds of people. When we went to work and got in touch with people, we began to go one step further in experiencing the complicated interpersonal relationships. When we got married, we started to experience living together with and loving another person. As numbers grow in our church, all kinds of people come into our midst, and everyone comes with different backgrounds and personalities. We are often shaped by people and we also shape others; or we are observed by people and we also examine others. Many a times, we make decisions about the experiences which people offer us. Perhaps we choose to avoid the crowd, or we choose to be together with those whom we like, or we start to adapt to those with different personalities and working styles from us. Of course, this is our natural human reaction. But to a person who knows the gospel, when we are in touch with all kinds of people, we must be brought to a conclusion, which is, “people are all the same, yet also different”. Rather than first making judgment and choices about people, we should first understand all people from the word of God. First, humans are all the same. The sin of mankind is the same, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God <Ro 3:23>. When humans are selfish, fearful, greedy, and accused, perhaps they show it in different ways, but the state of their hearts is all the same. Their heart of wanting to hide themselves, protect themselves, acquire more for themselves, is all the same. By themselves, they cannot walk out of this state. But also because humans have sin and humanity is weak, so we all need redemption. Therefore, when God sent His only Son to save people of the world, the Bible says, “God loved the world...” <Jn 3:16> God knows what the people of the world need, and that is love. When a person knows someone loves him, and there is someone who helps him when he is helpless, then his heart will naturally be liberated, protected, and strengthened. This love comes from the Lord who created man, and fully knows man’s life. Man cannot see this love, so he seeks earthly and limited love, thus always ending in disappointments. Yet, the human spirit needs the redemption and great love of this Creator. Many a times, we keep figuring out how to evangelise to such people, nations, or persons with certain religious faith. We study their personalities, cultures, backgrounds, thinking, etc, but in the midst of these, we forgot that their humanity is the same as all people. If we truly understand this truth, we will not feel too helpless because of people’s hardness and weakness. After hearing it, perhaps some people may think that this is simple truth. But why does it seem so hard when we are in contact with and live with people? Because we must know that besides people being the same, there is another profound truth, and that is, people are all different. Everyone’s background, personality, perspective of things, hurdles in their hearts, working style, way of expression, are all different. Because of these differences, if there is no deep understanding between persons and persons, misunderstandings and conflicts will easily arise in interaction. When such misunderstandings and conflicts remain unresolved, people’s hearts will be shut. This is why we must deeply know one another in the Lord, not merely knowing one’s personality on the surface. Sometimes, our understanding of people around us is only built upon working on something together, but there is no deep understanding of their entire person. Sometimes when we are moving toward a goal or accomplishing certain tasks, we cannot understand why another person cannot accommodate us, or why a person cannot cooperate. As a result, we form many opinions about the person, or judge him by our standards. This is when we still cannot fathom that “people are all the same”, otherwise it is because we have yet to understand that “people are all different”. In fact, the gospel teaches us how to integrate these two truths in our hearts. Sometimes, we tend to skew toward one truth easily. Example: If we as parents can teach our children well, we will say that all children are the same. But another parent may not be able to teach his child well, then he will say that his child is different from other children, thus it is not so easy to teach him. Actually, this is brought about by the subjectivity of man. The more we can look at these two areas comprehensively and accurately, the more will our love and tolerance toward others be. Our wisdom in living with others will also grow. Think about it, why is it that when we go to our heavenly home in future, everyone is different, yet there will not be any conflict, grumble, comparison, fear, etc, and there will not be any sorrow, weeping, misery, etc, resulting from these? <Rev 7:9> tells us that by then, there will be people from every nation, tribe, people and language. So many different people will gather together, yet we can be completely in harmony. Will we be omnipotent by then? Do we not have needs then? Is there no difference in the crowns we all receive then? Certainly not! But by then, we have two things. First, we will no longer have sin. When our sinful body is done, all our limitations or differences will not be the channel for our grumblings and comparisons, but it will produce a heart of valuing and helping one another. Second, the Bible says by then there is no need for the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God is our light and will give us light <Rev 22:5>. In other words, we will not fall into darkness and the fear, lack, helplessness, etc of darkness. Our spirits are completely satisfied by God. Sometimes, we cannot really understand or experience that state, because it is too inconceivable. But whenever we saints gather now, especially when we are facing one another’s weaknesses, limitations, inadequacies, or differences, we must learn how to practice for the heavenly kingdom. In particular, in the profound gospel truth of everyone is same yet different, we must receive a more profound and practical perspective and heart in knowing people.
