试想我们人的言语是多么尊贵，且多有能力呢？在《创 1:3》，神说：「要有光」，就有了光。神单单说了，万有就被创造了。这证明了神口里出的言语没有一句是徒然返回的《赛55:11》。之后，神按着自己的形象造人，且赐他言语的权柄与能力。因此，亚当用他口中的言语来治理万有（给所有活物起名），他也说出了神在一男一女结合的最大奥秘：“这是我骨中的骨，肉中的肉”。确实，神透过人说话，传出祂的心意，这是何等奇妙的事。但自从人堕落之后，没有一个人的言语是没有过失。我们心中的罪（贪心、惧怕、骄傲）都在我们的言语上显露出来。那时，我们人渐渐不重视自己的言语，都乱说话，也说错话，甚至说出虚妄与虚假的话。这些话慢慢就带来了很多的后果，使人对我们失去信任，且使自己的关系破裂，与人进到各种的纠纷、嫌隙与敌对。那么有时我们误以为自己因为软弱，所以说的话就毫无作用了。其实不然！人的话仍旧带着能力，能影响人与环境。但关键是人的话是带有创造性，还是破坏性的能力。倘若是创造性的言语，人会因你的话继续更喜欢听你说话，且因你的话得着智慧与能力。要不然就是因你的话得着惧怕、贪心、伤害、苦毒、污秽等，渐渐落入魔鬼的网络。因此，我们不能逃避言语的责任，甚至我们该说的时候不说，不该说的时候说，那也是一种过失。因此，在主的恩光照耀之年，我们应当在两方面操练。首先，因为人的罪性叫人的舌头都有过失，我们都要懂得勒住自己的舌头。勒住舌头并不是不说话，但我们的言语必须经过心中的祷告与考量才说。因此人的言语一定有被动性的层面，不是想说就说。《箴10:19》：多言多语难免有过，禁止嘴唇是有智慧。确实，这方面是很多信徒没有谨慎操练的，所以主的圣民在一起时常常给魔鬼撒下分歧的种子，使主的教会受到很多亏损。属灵人必定要操练勒住自己的舌头，因为他知道舌头是个罪恶的世界《雅3:6》。确实，这世界几乎所有的罪都是先从口出。试想杀人、淫乱、贪婪、恶毒、毁谤、欺骗、骄傲等，有哪一个不是利用舌头的能力呢？因此，我们要谨慎自己的舌头。另外，在说话的事上我们也要求恩膏。使徒保罗说：你们既然在信心、口才、知识、热心和待我们的爱心上，都格外显出满足来《林后8:7》... 不可叫人小看你年轻，总要在言语、行为、爱心、信心、清洁上，都做信徒的榜样《提前4:12》。在这几处保罗都说到言语的重要，特别是对服侍主的人更是要在此求得恩膏。有时，我们不懂得说就不说或是乱说，这是不合宜的。这样一来，我们轻看了神给予我们言语的权柄与智慧，且不多求恩惠，因此叫自己和周围的人都受亏损。有的人因说话常常给人误解或是绊倒人，他的心是越会受控告，以致更加失去智慧。但是能够将话语说得合宜，使人明白，且心服口服，这就是对神给予我们的权柄负起责任，也是一个重视智慧的人。因此，《箴25:11》说：一句话说得合宜，就如金苹果在银网子里。确实，神造人给人感悟。因此人无论是看到美的东西或是听到合宜的话语，心都会受感动。属灵人绝不会轻视言语的权柄与力量。因为他清楚知道当神一说了，万物就被创造了。因此，带有神的形象的他，且会懂得靠神来说话，以至借着口中的言语能以成就主所要成就的事。

Think about it, how honourable are the words of we humans, and how powerful are they? In <Gen 1:3>, God says, “Let there be light”, and there was light. God merely spoke and all things were being created. This proves that every word that goes out from God’s mouth will not return to Him empty <Isa 55:11>. After that, God created human according to His own image, and blessed him with the authority and power of speech. Therefore, Adam used the words from his mouth to rule over everything (gave all living creatures their names), he also spoke forth the greatest mystery of God’s union of one man and one woman, “This is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh”. Indeed, God spoke through human and revealed His heart, this is such an amazing thing. But since the fall of man, no one person’s speech is without fault. The sins in our hearts (greed, fear, pride) are all revealed in our speech. Then, we humans gradually do not value our speech and speak thoughtlessly, and also wrongly, even saying things that are fabricated and false. These words slowly bring about many consequences, causing people to lose trust in us, or making our relationships break down, entering into all kinds of quarrels, conflicts and enmity with people. Sometimes, we mistakenly think that because we are weak, our words are unimportant. In fact, this is not the case! Human words are still powerful and can influence people and environment. However, the critical thing is, human words carry the power to create or to destroy. If it is constructive words, people will continue to all the more like hearing you speak because of your words, and they can also gain wisdom and power from your words. Otherwise, because of your words, they will receive fears, greed, hurts, bitterness, filth, etc, and gradually fall into the devil’s trap. Thus, we cannot escape the responsibility of our words. Even if we do not speak when we should, or speak when we should not, that is also a fault. Therefore, in the year of being illuminated by the Lord’s gracious light, we should train in two areas. First, because the sinful nature of man causes the human tongue to have faults, we must know how to keep a tight rein on our tongues. To keep a tight rein on our tongues does not mean that we do not speak, but our words must go through the prayers and consideration in our hearts before we speak. Hence, human words have a passive side, instead of simply being spoken as we like. <Prov 10:19>: Sin is not ended by multiplying words, but the prudent hold their tongues. Indeed, this is where many believers have not trained carefully, so when the Lord’s holy people get together, they always allow the devil to sow seeds of division, causing the Lord’s church to suffer great loss. The spiritual man must train to keep a tight rein on his tongue, because he knows the tongue is a world of evil <Jas 3:6>. Indeed, almost all the sins of this world first come from the mouth. Think about it, murder, adultery, greed, evil, slander, deception, pride, etc, which one does not use the power of the tongue? Thus, we must be careful with our tongues. Also, in terms of speaking, we should ask for anointing. Apostle Paul said, “But since you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you <2 Co 8:7>... Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity <1 Ti 4:12>. In these passages, Paul talked about the importance of speech. In particular, those who serve the Lord should all the more seek anointing in this area. Sometimes, we do not speak or anyhow speak when we do not know what to say, this is not appropriate. In this way, we look down on the authority and wisdom that God has attached to our words, and we do not seek more grace, thus causing ourselves and those around us to suffer loss. For some people, because their words always make people misunderstand or stumble, their hearts will all the more be accused, such that they lose more wisdom. However, to be able to speak appropriately, so that people can understand and be convinced, that is being responsible to the authority that God has given, and this is also someone who values wisdom. Thus, <Prov 25:11> says, “A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver.” Indeed, God gave humans the sense of feeling when He created humans. Therefore, no matter whether humans see beautiful things or hear fitting words, their hearts will be touched. A spiritual person will absolutely not belittle the authority and power of words. Because he clearly knows that once God spoke, all things were being created. Thus, he who bears the image of God will know how to speak by God, so that through the words of his mouth, he can accomplish what the Lord wants to fulfil.
