Early yesterday morning, we received news that made us all sad that our Sister Anna has returned home to heaven. When she was wrestling with life and death in the hospital for 26 days, whether it was her family members or her brethren, they were anxious yet faithful in praying for her. In this, her physical ups and downs brought God's servant the power of comfort and compelled concern in the mission field such that I could complete the Lord's work and return home. Not only was our sister infected with the novel coronavirus, she also had heart disease and hypertension. She was cured of all these illnesses yesterday morning. Because the Bible tells us that when saints die, we are at the same time stripped of the sin, diseases or death of our body and can rest peacefully in the Lord’s arms. The Bible says that this man "will rest from his labor."  If all of us have prayed and the Lord is still willing to take our sister, it must be the best thing for her and for those around her. We must know that the Word of the Lord will not end with the death of man, but rather it tells of the death of man even more clearly so that those who live and believe in Him receive comfort and hope. This is because the Word of the Lord continues to be fulfilled. It does not stop because of the suffering of this world, but gives hope to man in suffering and light in darkness. Today, Singaporeans may be alarmed by the COVID-19 deaths. Our brethren who know Sister Anna would be saddened by this. The family members of our church members may feel very frightened. But we should now show the most concern and pray for the family members of Sister Anna. The fear of death is different from the heart of one facing death. Death is Man’s greatest enemy, and it always gives people endless panic. But <1 Co 15:26> says, the last enemy to be destroyed is death. Perhaps we may have many enemies in life, and we may also have subdued some of them. But the ultimate enemy, and one that humanity cannot overcome, is death. The death and resurrection of Christ has overcome this "death", and because of His victory over death, He can give eternal life to man. Indeed, no one wants to live in fear. But how can we overcome the fear of death if we do not have the answer to eternal life? If death-related news comes to human ears, no one's will and optimism can overcome that fear. Only the absolute truth of God’s Word can give the clearest answer to Man regarding death. At this time now, let us fix our perspective more on the Lord and pray that the passing of our sister will bring unexpected blessings for individuals, families, churches, and people across the country.
