倘若一个人在基督信仰的实质上是凭肉体,他就会不断的靠功德,而靠功德的想法与举动就会不断的出现在他的信仰道路中。但倘若一个人在信仰的实质上是凭信心,他就会不断的靠恩典,而靠恩典的方法与经历就会不断的显示在他的信仰生活中。今天,基督信仰中有许多教义的差距,而这差距都是来自对“信心”和“称义”的误解。为何“因信称义”这伟大的真理这么快会流失?为何这真理在神教会的讲台会失去中心强调?再就是为何这神为真理会变质为人的功德(视信心为功德)?其实,这都是因为人倾向肉体的光景而带来的结果。确实上,神称罪人为义的事要说明的就是“神主权性的恩典”,这一切来自神自己所发明的救恩,而全是祂的功德所为。那在此神引进“人的信心为领会救赎的联结点”,就是说当一个人信的时候,他蒙受了基督救赎在他身上的功效,就是神算他为义(这并非他拥有神无瑕无耻的圣洁属性,乃是被神称为义)。因此,信心是毫无人的功德在里头。信心乃是弃绝一切自己有任何义的主张,以至全然相信那称罪人为义的神,而这宣称的根基就在于基督十字架上的完工。今天,倘若我们的心灵不太明白“神算我们为义”的真理,所认为的是我们因功德成为义人,或因有信心的表现就成为义人,或是成为义人就是被灌输神的义(因此就不会在犯罪),我们信仰的起点就有误了。事实上,“神称我们为义,以我们的信心算为我们的义”,并非宣明信心为我们得救的条件,也不是说这信心代表我们在信仰道路中能完全顺服神,乃是在灵界的法律上宣称我们为义人,不算我们为有罪的,以至以此看待我们。这之后,我们还会有很多不够不足之处,甚至会有软弱过犯,但这并非更改我们“被称为义”的地位。所以,我们的信仰是在这地位上(根基)前进的。我们不能因自己的软弱而更改我们对自己称义的地位有所疑惑,或是以多做善行来多赚取“称义”的位子。这样一来,我们的“被神称为义”的信仰就失效了。相反的,因信称义告诉我们基督已经替代我们,祂替我们成为罪,好叫我们在祂里面成为神的义《林后5:21》。因此借着信,我今日在肉身活着不在是我,乃是与基督联合而活《加2:20》。今天,我们要精准的认识亚伯拉罕因信称义的真理,而从这里清楚认识我们在基督里蒙爱蒙福的尊贵身份。倘若我们对此身份有所疑点,我们不是要多做什么(以人的功德)来肯定自己,乃是要先认识神称我们为义的真理。事实上,唯有认识自己已经是被神称为义的才能行出义。在这点上,没有任何人的宗教能理解这等奥秘。因为宗教总是要以人的功德来自我肯定自己,但福音显出神的义,使人因信而与基督联合,以此才能真行出义。
If the essence of a person’s faith in Christ is dependent on flesh, he will continue to rely on works, the thoughts and acts of works will constantly appear in his path of faith. But if the essence of a person’s belief is by faith, he will keep relying on grace, the methods and experience of grace will constantly appear in his faith living. Today, there are many differences in the doctrines in Christian faith, and these differences come from the misunderstanding towards “faith” and “justification”. Why does the great truth of “justification by faith” disappear so quickly? Why does this truth lose its central emphasis in the pulpits of God’s churches? Why does this God-driven truth reduce to man’s work (deeming faith as works)? Actually, this is the outcome as one inclines towards flesh. The fact that God calls sinners as righteous has clearly shown “God’s sovereign grace”, all come from God-created salvation grace, it is all His works. Here, God also brings in “man’s faith is the connecting point of him receiving the salvation”, meaning, when one believes, he has already received the effects of Christ’s redemption on him, God has credited righteousness to him (not because he has the holy and perfect attributes of God, but it is God who deems him as righteous). Therefore, there’s no element of work of man in faith. Faith is rejecting all self-righteousness, to the extent of completely believing in the God who credits righteousness to sinners. The foundation of such proclamation comes from Christ’s finished work on the Cross. Today, if we are not too clear of the truth of “God credits righteousness to us”, thinking that we are made righteous because of our works or acts of faith, or if we think that becoming righteous means God’s righteousness is lavished on us (thus we’ll no longer sin) – then there remains misunderstanding in our faith. Actually, “God calls us righteous, and credits our faith as righteousness” does not mean that faith is the condition for our salvation; neither does it imply that we can completely submit to God in our path of faith. But it is under the spiritual law that we are proclaimed righteous, our sins are not counted against us, and He is seeing us this way. After this, we still have a lot of inadequacies, or weakness and transgressions, but all these will not change our status of “justified”. Therefore, our faith advances on this status (foundation). We cannot change our status of having justified by faith or have doubts about it because of our own weaknesses, nor can we earn this place of “justified” through many good deeds. If it is so, our faith of “being justified by God” will lose the effect. Instead, being justified by faith tells us that Christ has replaced us, He who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God < 2 Co 5:21>. Thus through faith, it is not I who live but Christ lives in me < Gal 2:20>. Today, we have to be precise in knowing the truth of Abraham’s justification by faith, and know the greatly loved and greatly blessed honorable identity we have in Christ. If we have doubts towards this identity, we should not affirm ourselves by doing more (through works of men) but to first understand the truth of being justified by God. It is through one knowing how he has been justified by God that leads him to live out that righteousness. In this, no religion of men can comprehend such mystery, as religion is always affirming self through man’s works; but gospel is to reveal God’s righteousness, enabling man to connect with Christ through faith, only then can he truly live out the righteousness.
