不论是科学里的新发现，或是一首最美的音乐，或是最深奥的一篇文学作品，我们都要能够领会与体感，才能赞叹不已。倘若不能赞叹，心里就无法因此得着能力。圣经说神的儿子拯救罪人的福音是那永固隐藏不言的奥秘，是连天使都无法领会的救恩，却是神的儿子施行在我们蒙拯救之人的救赎。但是对我们而言，如果我们没有办法领会与体感这福音的荣耀，我们依靠与应用这福音的能力就大得限制了。圣经说：这基督的福音是“永固”的奥秘，就是从亘古直到永远都会纪念的。这也是“隐藏不言的奥秘”，《西1:26》说是历史历代所隐藏的奥秘。在历史历代中，人能参透科学、社会学、哲学、文学，能够参透万物中各种优美的声音与景色，但却没有办法参透神心中向人所怀着的救赎。这就如同一个画家在将他最美的作品完成之前，他的每一笔，每一抹只是显出一个笔触，从中无法看见画家心里面的完美样本。因此，神透过祂儿子的福音将那超越人性能够理解的奥秘显明。基本上，神儿子的福音告诉我们四方面的奥秘：① 神在祂无限的荣耀里创造了世界，将祂的荣耀集中在祂所造的人和世界里；② 在人的犯罪脱落之后，神用祂儿子的死替代了人将要面对的死亡（永死）；③ 神借着圣灵充满祂的仆人使女，使他们（教会）将这天国的福音传遍天下；④ 当每一个属神的子民被救赎之后，教会要被带入永远的国，与神永远在一起。这就是整个救赎历史的结束，也是完成。在这四方面，可能人会问这有什么永固隐藏不言的奥秘？那似乎是一个很简单说明的事件，不像是很难理解的奥秘。但其实，若没有神的救赎，人类是继续陷入不可思议的反面后果。这世界多存留一天，就有多一天的灾殃；科技越是发展，就会给罪恶更多繁殖的机会；人类越是有聪明意志，下面的结果就是更多的争斗；人越是要爱，就越是自私；人越是要得，便越是伤害他人。没有一个人的聪明与意志能解决这些不能避免的问题。这究竟是为什么呢？就是罪的存在所带来的。如果救赎不临到，罪不除灭，人类越是前进，只会给罪带来更多破坏性的机会。因此，救赎就成为了万有每个层面最必要的因素。只要神的一个子民还未被带入永远的国度里，万有是不断的在叹息劳苦中《罗8:22》。倘若没有基督死而复活的生命，人类无法认识那从天上而来的慈爱与公义。倘若没有继续被差派传福音的，就没有与罪恶敌对的，人类中那正面的文明文化也不会发展到今日。虽是如此，神最终的本意还是要借着福音将罪恶全然除灭，带来永远无罪的新天新地。这就是神百般的智慧，是那自高的世人在他满足肉体的性情中无法测度的。今天，神却将此奥秘透过祂儿子的福音向我们显明。

Whether it is a scientific discovery, the most beautiful piece of music, or the most profound piece of literature, we have to be able comprehend it and sense it before we can be amazed by it. If we are not amazed by it, we cannot draw strength from it. The bible says that God sending His Son to save sinners is a mystery hidden for long ages, something that angels cannot comprehend, but it is a redemption that Son of God has given to those who are saved. For us, we cannot comprehend and sense this glory of gospel, the extent we can rely on and apply the power of the gospel will be constrained. The bible puts it this way, “gospel of Christ is a mystery of ‘long ages past’. This means it will be remembered from the very beginning to eternity. This is also a “hidden mystery”. <Co 1:26> said that it is a mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations. Through the ages, man can fathom science, sociology, literature, and can grasp the beautiful sights and sounds of all things, but they cannot perceive the heart of God to save man. This is likened to a painter who has yet to finish his masterpiece. His every touch only reveals a stroke, and we cannot see the complete perfect picture in the painter’s heart. Therefore, God reveals the mystery beyond human understanding through the gospel of His Son. Basically, the gospel of the Son of God tells us mysteries in four areas: ① God created the world in His infinite glory, and focuses His glory in mankind and the world he created;  ② After man have sinned and fallen, God used the death of His Son to take the place of the death that man must face (eternal death); ③ God filled His servants with the Holy Spirit, so that they (church) can spread the gospel to the ends of the earth; ④ when every one of God’s people have been redeemed, the church will be brought into the eternal kingdom, and be with God. This is the end and the completion of the whole history of salvation. In the four areas, one may ask what about it is the mystery hidden for long ages past? That seems like a simple explanation, not a mystery that is hard to comprehend. However, if not for God’s salvation, mankind will continue to sink into unthinkable negative consequences. For every extra day the world exists, is another day of disaster; for the greater the technology advancement, the greater opportunity for evil to multiply; for greater intelligence and will humans have, the more conflicts we will see; the more humans want to love, the more selfish they get; the more humans want to gain, the more they will hurt others.  No one’s wisdom and determination can solve these inevitable problems. Why is that so? This is because of the existence of sin. If salvation has not come, and sin is not dealt with, as mankind advances, there will be greater destruction caused by sin. Therefore, salvation becomes the most important factor in all things at all levels. As long as one person belonging to God has not been brought to the eternal kingdom, the whole creation will be groaning <Ro 8:22>. If Christ has not died and resurrected, mankind will not be able to recognize the love and righteousness that comes from heaven. If there is no continuous sending of those who spread the gospel, there will not be anyone to oppose the sin, and the positive aspects of man’s civilization and culture will not be as developed as what we see today. Even so, God’s ultimate intention is to destroy sin completely through the gospel, and bring about new heavens and new earths that are eternally without sin. This is God’s manifold wisdom, which cannot be grasp by prideful man as they gratify of their flesh. Today, God has revealed this mystery through the gospel of His Son.
