虽世人都犯罪，但世人都不认识罪。何谓罪呢？如何对付呢？倘若我们对罪的本质不认识，我们现在很多的学习圣经、敬虔祷告、行善侍奉都无法针对罪所带来的危害。《约壹3:8》神的儿子显现出来，为要除灭魔鬼的作为。确实，魔鬼的作为以一句话来说就是罪了。因为圣经说他是起初先犯罪的。魔鬼与罪本是一个。虽圣经没有告诉我们为何起初良善的天使会犯罪，但我们知道犯罪的天使是永远不能和罪分开（神也没有向天使启示救赎），但犯罪的人却是能被透过神的救赎（基督）从罪被就出来。所以，人必须透过基督认识如何脱离罪，而天天靠着圣灵治死身体的恶行（罪行）《罗8:13》。首先，我们要知道罪离神的荣耀到达所有人间的善行善意（例如：建学校、建医院、捐助给穷人、乐于助人、为苍生牺牲、等）都没有办法从永死得蒙救赎。所以，我们虽然偶尔能看见人间有爱、有情、有善，但我们信了救赎的真理之后，无法对一个不接纳基督救赎之人的善行而为他感到全然安慰。我们为那样的“善人”能感恩，但不能为他感到放心。那是因为我们已经对罪开始有深切的意识了，会知道人的善行与善意不能消除的邪恶。确实，邪恶能叫人行出伤天害理的事，也能透过人的善来夺取神的荣耀。另外，罪是一定会拒绝神的救赎。事实上，罪在这世界里造成了各种破坏，但它也向世人呈现了许多的解决法。打个比方说：罪透过人带来了疾病、平穷、战争、家庭破裂、问题少年等，但是罪也同时会透过人将许多的方法呈现给世界，在这当中也包括宗教（从某个角度来说，罪能使人很聪明，但也同时使人全然无知），但罪绝不向神低头。因此，罪不会承认自己是邪恶、无助与无知，因此当它在人心中动工时，他叫人不知罪，也专随己意行。再就是，罪叫人的性情与圣灵敌对，但因为是与圣灵敌对的，所以无法行善。保罗说：“立志为善由得我，但行出来由不得我”《罗7:18》。从这点，我们会知道人的良善、聪明与意志绝对胜不过罪。纵然我们信主了，但若我们不晓得靠圣灵（有定罪之心、心里注重罪孽、不晓得何谓神的美意），绝无法治死身体的恶行。最后，罪潜伏在人的关系里。因为罪首要是敌对神，再就是要在人的生命里有主权。所以人与人的关系是罪做工的集中点了。所以《罗马书》在最后的部分讲到彼此相爱、接纳、问安的事。圣民在这样的关系里享用福音的大能，但是罪同时在这样的关系里要造成破坏，使轻视和论断在教会里产生，也叫保罗在往罗马去与罗马圣民相遇的事受到大阻拦。但是对那受圣灵引导的保罗，他所劝勉圣民的话与顺服神的行程使罪恶无法有机可乘。

Although men sin, men actually do not know sin. What is sin? How should we handle it? If we do not know the nature of sin, the Biblical studies, devoted prayers, and serving or deeds will not be able to tackle the threats come from sin. < 1 John 3:8> The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work. Indeed, to sum it all, the work of devil is sin. The Bible said he was the one who sinned right from the beginning. Devil and sin are one. Although the Bible does not tell us why the initial good angel would sin, we know that the fallen angel can never separate with sin (God also did not reveal redemption to angels), but sinners can be redeemed through God’s redemption (Christ). Hence, men need to know how to be set free from sin through Christ, and rely on the Holy Spirit to put to death the misdeeds of the body (acts of sin) <Romans 8:13>. Firstly, we ought to know, sin departs from the glory of God and come upon all deeds and goodwill in the world (Eg: building schools or hospitals, donating to the poor, helpful to others, sacrificing for all etc), yet these can never save one from eternal death. Therefore, we occasionally see the love, kinship, and kindness in humanity, but after we’ve believed in the redemptive truth, we will never feel secure for the good deeds done by a person who does not accept Christ’s redemption. We are grateful for such “kind” soul, but we remain concerned. That’s because we begin to have deeper awareness of sin, knowing that it is the evil that is inerasable by men’s kind acts or intentions. Indeed, evil can cause men to do things that harm others, it can also rob God’s glory through men’s kindness. Besides, sin will surely reject God’s redemption. In fact, sin creates various destruction in this world, but at the same time, it presents a lot of solutions to us. For example: through men, sin brings illness, poverty, war, broken families, delinquencies etc. However at the same time, through men, sin presents a lot of methods to the world, including religion (from another angle, sin causes a person to be smart, yet completely ignorant), but sin rejects bowing its head to God. In view of this, sin will never acknowledge its evil, helplessness, and ignorance; it works in the hearts of men, causes people to be ignorant of sin, only to act as they please. Moreover, sin causes the temperament of men to oppose the Holy Spirit. As it opposes the Holy Spirit, it cannot do good. Paul said, “For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out” < Ro 7:18>. From here, we realize that men’s intelligence, kindness and willpower can never overcome sin. Even though we have believed in the Lord, yet if we do not know how to rely on the Holy Spirit (having a condemned heart, focus on the sin in our hearts, not knowing what is the perfect will of God), we will never put to death the misdeeds of the body. Finally, sin infiltrates into men’s relationships. For it opposes God first, and then seeks to reign in men’s life, therefore relationship with men is one focal point where sin works. Therefore, the last part of <Romans> talks about loving one another, acceptance, greetings etc. Saints can enjoy the great power of gospel in such relationship, but at the same time, sin will create destruction in such relationships, causing judgment and discriminations to occur within church. It also caused Paul to face huge resistance in his journey to meet the saints in Rome. But to Paul who was led by the Spirit, his encouragement to the saints and his journey of submission to God left no foothold for the devil.
